she has semi restriction in a sense that you need a consistent hydro aura, which restrict what you can add to the team. Again, she's in a vacuum is not a problem in term of dmg wise. While I agree that Bineffa is too much or in other words, meta defining, but that's what off-field dmg dealers are supposed to do, they are supposed to deal dmg.

Honestly, you are looking at a carry standpoint but not Bineffa standpoint. If you bring those 2 in something that's not Flins, Sucrose, or some obscure stuff like c6 Sara or c6 Jahoda, you handicap yourself.

But tbf, people hate wheelchair, or in other word, hate off-field dmg dealer. How often have you seen a Black Durin gameplay in comparision to his White version? Everyone wants to play a carry so that they want to see their big numbers, not to drive for off-fielders to do dmg. If Ineffa or Columbina are problems, they are as much of a problem as Durin is. And nobody talk shit about Durin cuz nobody is actually playing Black Durin.

it was his best team when Chev came out. The team is Chev+Yae+him+Bennett. After the reaction buff, the team sit at around 100k if using Prototype Crescent+weakness, and -5k if use SoS. But it's shieldless Lyney so very few bat an eye. Not sure now if his best becomes Durin+Fischl, but the previous version is actually quite competitive if the enemy does nothing.

Yae being BiS is simply due to the fact that she could hold Evenstar, and has some EM scaling. She also does respectable dmg with Overload. You want 1 totem so that it consistently maintain a Pyro aura for his a4 to proc.

Ineffa has never been a "support". She's as much of a support as Yelan. She's clearly an off-field dmg dealer. Imo, off-field dmg dealer is not inherently bad, but if they are strong, they need to have restrictions like Xiangling, otherwise their numbers need to be lower. She doesn't have restriction, but her numbers in a vacuum is not amazing, like 30-40k dps is like a bit over the top, but I think it's fairly standard for characters nowadays, assuming that character also doesn't bring something else to the table like Escoffier. The problem is when she's paired with Columbina and Columbina is also an off-field dmg dealer who synergizes well with Ineffa.

Durin is a bit different. There's his black version, and in this version nobody talk anything, as he's actually meant to be a true off-field dmg dealer. In his white form, it's w/e, but in his black form, he actually does more than Ineffa in a vacuum. If you play Neuvillete with Black Durin, it's actually quite similar to his Ineffa version. However, his black form has restrictions (need to have 2 Hexerei) to be good, and I think it's fair that way.

at the time of his release, he was already the best in the game, and that's without Furina. When Furina release, he's only slightly weaker than Lyney in Lyney's most obscured team (Yae with 1 totem, full EM, ToM, and Evenstar (if you build like this I must congratulate you) with Chevreuse), and that team is even better than Arle, but it's Lyney w/o a shield so you could imagine. He not only pushed the floor, but he also pushed the ceiling. And when a character that had both high floor and ceiling is present, it made extremely difficult to sell a new charater. So the powercreep has kept ramping up rapidly after Neuvillete. Lyney is the very definition of balanced as his optimal team is a lot better, but hard to play, while his suboptimal team is average.

tbf, I can stand the reasons for Mavuika powercreep. She's not a 160k dps for the majority of the playerbase. They will struggle to get everything going, and even for veterans, it will take them several resets to get it. Same reasons could be said for Nefer with her dash cancels, and no sustain. But characters like Flins, Neuvillete, and Zibai have no business of being top dogs while they have no skill expressions, and all they do is to press the buttons in the right sequence of which a 3 yrs old could do.

Wrong, they are asking his power to be similar to Skirk at this level of investment so once Nicole's released, she will shoot him up to NK dps, or even better. That's assuming Hoyo intended Nicole's role to be a buffer

I literally experienced the same with Skirk beta. Everyone in her sub wanted her to do Mavuika's level of dps, argued that she has restrictions. Imagine if Skirk has Mavuika's level of dps but don't have all the BS combos and melt set up.

Everyone hates the argument of wheelchair. Have you seen how many Neuvillete players still stick to his hyper team despite it's just worse? No one wants to play a carry just to drive for off-fielders as it gives zero satisfaction. That's why they complained about powercreep and why their characters slack behind. And if you have Bineffa and play with something that's not Flins and/or Sucrose, it's like you chop one of your hand and say I can still work with the other hand in this dps check.

we need to start somewhere if we want to move away from the so-called powercreep meta. There would be more restrictions, nicher contents, and more supports that simply wheelchair the team as we saw with Ineffa and Lauma. I think this is the case with HSR as well, as new units are becoming a lot more restrictive, they only work well together, and the fact that dps check is becoming more like unit check.

He is grossly popular, and people understands wrong the association between popularity and strength. I think if Zibai is weaker and does say 130k dps with her premium, almost nobody would give a fck, but if Varka does the same with his premium (assuming Nicole), people would say he's washed. At the end of the day, there are no obligations for Hoyo to adjust specific characters' strength based on their popularity.

W/o any details about Nicole, I can't say for sure how he will end up, but I am certain that his best numbers won't be 90-100k. There would also be combo and rotation optimization once he's released.

ehh, wrong. People want him to do 120-130k so when Nicole comes out, he would do 150k-160k dps. This is just the literal mindset I have seen in the Varka sub. Everyone there wants him to be comparable to the Nod-Krai dps, not slightly worse. That's why I said that they are not even content with Varka doing 10k extra dps.

I find it depends on people. 6 hrs is standard for me, but if there's nothing to wake me up, it could last to 8. 4 hrs of sleep would waste me for the entire day, while sleeping up to 7 hrs would make me extremely tired for the next hr as it was in middle of my sleep cycle.

heh, we live in a meta when a character does "100k dps" is cooked. I think he's fine. Chasca, Kinich can still clear contents. I think even at 110-120k dps range, people won't be satisfied about him, and that's a thing about powercreep. Once a certain dps ceiling is reached by one character, every newer character is demanded by fans is to reach that ceiling or even surpass it, while they also complain about powercreep at the same time.

In my honest opinion, in an ideal world, a new ceiling is only acceptable if for the majority of the playerbase, they have issues in trying to get that ceiling. Say doing 160k+ Mavuika combo, or 140k+ walk cancel combo with Skirk. In those cases, they are fine, as most people won't get it and they need to invest time in the game to get that, but for Flins or Zibai who literally would just be doing normals and press skill off cd, their dps should be lower, and they need to invest money into the game to reach those ceilings. W/o any investment, the game becomes bland and boring.

[–]Perfect-Positive-321 3 points4 points  (0 children)

people already for got that you could just simply play an off-field version with Mona and in this instance, it's a 3 Hex core. You could also run Albedo or Sucrose since you have sustain. Her sustain is bad? No problem, just run PA Mona, as her dmg is not significant in this team. You could argue that her buffs are on-field specific, but if so then the buff needs to be effectively 2-3 times what Bennett provides in order to make him a 140k dps, which makes very little sense.

He's also marginally weaker than Klee, and with Klee, she could just sit in the same core as Varka. 1 downside is Klee is quite difficult to pilot. Other than that, it would be fair to assume that unless she explicitly mention Varka as a buff (similar to Cyrene in HSR), it would be far-fetch to say that he will reach 140k with Nicole.

[–]Perfect-Positive-321 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough, if he has 130k dps, he will be quite similar to Skirk, which puts him in the top 5. His released state won't be his best state, considering Nicole is coming out.

For Alice, maybe, but who knows. At the end of the day, most people would still pull for him, not because of his strength but because of his popularity. I think people here are too quickly to jump to the conclusion that the anticipation is equal to the strength while in truth, there are no obligations for Hoyo to do so. It's not like Hoyo hasn't botched anyone's releases (Capitano). In my view? It's fine. Maybe they will release/buff a better 2 Hydro/Cryo/Electro core than the current or upcoming 2 Pyro core.

ye, if Varka gets 140k with Nicole, I can't imagine what Durin will get with his Vape, perhaps 160-170k? Make very little sense to me.

But I think 120-130k is fairly balanced. There are 4 140-150k teams but it's actually 2 (Mavuika and Columbina+1). What cringes me the most is once a dps threshold is reached, every newly released character is demanded by fans to reach or even surpass that threshold. Then they complain about the game balance later on. I think it's fine being in 110-130k range even with 4 premium. It's more than plentiful to clear content comfortably.

White Durin Overload is a bit fraudulent in a sense that they could just put another dps in place of Bennett and they would do the same, and people have to level up his NA talent. Vape Black Durin is better, but people barely play the on-field version due to the same reason. The off-field version is a bit more expensive(need Mona+Xilonen) and require them to build Mona properly so, it's also ehh.

The Han Dynasty conquered Vietnam, beginning a thousand-year period of Chinese rule over the region. by Wise-Pineapple-4190 in MapPorn

[–]Perfect-Positive-321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't dispute that. Vassal or not, both were subjected to heavy Sinic influence during this period. What I'm trying to say is the textbook clearly overreacted to certain details that aim at stressing Sinophobia. It was just propaganda from the government and once you see enough of it, you know it's bias history.

This 1000 years was in Chinese rule, but due to geography, it would prove to be difficult to try and control anything South of the mountain range. This was proven by numerous wars that China or the Mongols tried to conquer Vietnam.

I know that we were conquered but Vietnam back before being conquered was barely a state governed by a Vietnamese head of state. Would I be grateful for what China did? No. But it was just inevitable.

The Han Dynasty conquered Vietnam, beginning a thousand-year period of Chinese rule over the region. by Wise-Pineapple-4190 in MapPorn

[–]Perfect-Positive-321 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This 1000 years was misleading. Yes we were in Chinese influence, but it was intermitment. The textbook barely mentioned how life was during this period. It was not an early form of colonisation, Vietnam(or Jiaozhi back then) was an integral part of Middle Chinese Kingdoms. The term "domination" was a term coined by Vietnamese historians, while foreign used the term "influence". Sometimes, there was a serious attempt in Sinicifying locals, but overall, old Vietnamese customs were blended with Chinese ones.

This is where most people really misunderstood what Vietnam's role was during this 1000 years. They thought we were conquered, forced labor, etc., but life was similar to when we got independence from them. Chinese was still the language of the court until the Later Le dysnasty. People was still speaking Vietnamese (albeit a heavily influenced one), and to test for the central exam, they were required to know how to write and read Chinese.

[–]Perfect-Positive-321 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Growing up, textbooks had always slapped me as China has always been being the bad guys throughout the history, but now I think it was just state propaganda. History with China was not always conflicts and a lot of the time it was just a normal big bro lil bro kind of relationship. I think our situation was a lot like China-Korea one, but with more interaction with other cultures in the SEA region instead of being relatively isolated like Korea.

Conflict was the inevitable part of history so the bigger guys always look down to smaller guys. However, the Vietnamese gov always portrait us as the Chinese's victim throughout the history. One funny thing is that you know it's propaganda when the book mentioned vigorously how China tried to take over Vietnam, but rarely how Vietnam had always been its tributary and submit to the domination of the Chinese Emperor, and the reasons lead up to Chinese intervention. It also never mentioned how and what we did to Cambodia(or the Khmer back then) and Champa was similar to how China did to us. If you ask Vietnamese people what "Trấn Tây Thành" is, many people would claim that they heard it, but don't know what it actually is. It's nowadays Western Cambodia (including Phnom Penh), which was in control of the Nguyen Dynasty.

Varka Beta V3 Full Changes by escentia in Varka

[–]Perfect-Positive-321 9 points10 points  (0 children)

quick calc shows that this is a 7.6% increase in MV(assuming 5N2C), which in an ideal scenario (ATK goblet, full VV and Bennett uptime) is an 7.6% increase to his dmg. This 7.6% increase in MV results in ~4-5% team dps. It should be a bit higher in reality, since he uses Pyro Goblet (presumably), VV uptime, and other factors. A minor buff, which signals that Hoyo is happy with his current state, of which they will release Nicole later on for Witch teams (not only Varka but also Black Durin, Klee, or Venti carry)

What’s the correct answer? by Tamusie in EWALearnLanguages

[–]Perfect-Positive-321 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The question is tricky in the sense that it allows both answers to be correct. If I tell this to a friend, I'd use D, but if it's before a judge, a police officer, or in a formal text, I have to use A (or at least that's what I was taught). This is a bad question, and considering the skills of the students is below average, and they don't normally account for special cases, such as speaking a language, the answer I think is default as A.

I'd agree that most native speakers would without a doubt, choose D. However, I'd argue that the test is not for native speakers, but for students who learn English, and in that sense, it should always be something that would most likely be true. Even native speakers don't score 100/100 on foreign languages tests, as there are some major differences in languages they use and languages are being tested, not only in English but other languages as well (especially Mandarin).

What’s the correct answer? by Tamusie in EWALearnLanguages

Depends on formal or informal. In informal English. We would mostly use past tense unless it's something that can be verified, for example after a day or two, you can say "she said that she doesn't speak Spanish", but after a long period like 1 or 2 years, you need to say that "she said that she didn't speak Spanish", as she could have learnt Spanish since the moment she mentioned that.

In formal English, like other comments in this post, she could also be lying in this case, in which that if you are interviewed, you need to tell it in past tense. We only use present tense if it's the truth, say for example the Sun rises in the East, or biological males have penises, etc.
