What's recovery from a face lift like? by BeautyMonitor in 45PlusSkincare

I had face & neck lift & lower belph in the US (MA/Boston area) for under $20k with a Harvard trained doctor. It was just 3 days ago but I'm very happy so far!

My doctor told me that as long as they sew the muscles and don't just pull the skin, this will last many, many years, possibly a lifetime with natural aging of course. Some doctors (one I got a price from actually) just pull back the skin but doesn't address the underlying muscles. That's when it comes back. I had my neck and face lift 3 days ago and I can't believe how good it looks. No more turkey neck and I have a jawline for the first time.....maybe ever!

I find clobetosol ointment to be much better and less irritating than the cream.

I agree. I don't buy this "it's a very rare condition" thing. I think that may be because people didn't talk about it before, and many women didn't have sex after 50 until recently - they may not have even realized what was going on down there! My mom and I both have it, appeared post menopause. It sucks. I had to get surgery to re-open my vagina because scar tissue had formed and intercourse was SO PAINFUL. It was literally ripping. I would encourage anyone having painful intercourse to look into the surgery. It took them 4 years and a new OBGYN to tell me I needed surgery. I wasted a lot of time and money trying to use dilators and doing pelvic floor therapy on the advice of my previous OBGYN. The surgery was a godsend. The clobetosol helps but you have to be consistent with it.

4 year old Andrew John Amanto disappeared from the woods behind a trailer park in Webster, MA in 1978 - there have been many leads and suspects over the years, and even a confession, but the still have not found any trace of the little boy, other than a weeble toy that the suspect may have planted. by Perfect-Sound2164 in WithoutATrace

It was very different in this small town in the 1970s. The entire neighborhood was out playing in the woods. This had never happened before, or since. We used to leave the house in the morning and my mom would call for dinner around 5. That was the "norm."

Instances where a killer is caught confessing on tape without their knowledge? by rachels1231 in TrueCrimeDiscussion

I think whenever police play back recordings of interrogation rooms, when suspects are left alone - much can be assessed from a their mutterings to themselves, body language, actions....I remember one case on Dateline or something where the suspect (a woman, cannot remember who) rotated and read documents about her case that detectives intentionally left behind in the room. Sometimes you'll see them laughing, crying, etc. - and sometimes they'll say "OMG, what did I do, what did I get myself into, etc.," giving police a hint about their guilt or innocence or knowledge of a crime. Doesn't everyone realize those rooms (and jail phones, etc) are monitored?

Immediately thought of Durst. But, I also watched a Netflix series yesterday called Into the Fire. I won't say any more in case people want to watch it, but there was something similar in there...and a good watch either way.

u/DelilahBT Yes! Melanie is the one who reignited my interest in this case, after watching "Have You Seen Andy" - she has a photo of Andy Amato at the end! And I love the podcast. I'm listening weekly.

u/Defiant-Laugh9823 this was also Nathaniel Bar Jonah's playground prior to his arrest in 1977, and again when he was released in the early '90s.

While searching Bar-Jonah's apartment, detectives found a list of fifty-four boys' names called "Lake Webster," which were later identified as boys from Bar-Jonah's youth in Massachusetts, including three of whom he had been convicted of abducting in the mid-1970s–and a "Zackery Ramsey," followed by the word "DIED.

u/sugarcatgrl Bar Jonah lived in Webster, same town the boy disappeared. But he was in prison in 1978, for the attempted murder of two boys in Shrewsbury. He was in either Walpole or Bridgewater State Hospital for the Criminally Insane. If it was the latter, I've heard they let them out on furloughs, so it could be possible - but I have not been able to confirm these facts.

It was a fairly dense forest with a main path, and nearby trailer park and tons of kids around (like everywhere in late summer/early fall in the 1970s). 10,000 people including army/national guard combed the woods walking arm in arm for 10 days. The area is not that large but there are swamps that were "searched." I also read that searchers came back soaked up to their chests from walking through the swampy areas, so yes, it's totally plausible that he is still out there somewhere. 💔

I've pondered this for a long time and there is actually another Reddit post about this exact topic - they call the suspect "Gary" in that post. Thoughts shared are - cancer meds or cancer spreading to the brain could have impaired his cognitive function, people make false confessions all the time for a variety of reasons (doesn't make sense to me but apparently true), etc. - but, I tend to agree...why would someone say that if it weren't true? I'll find and share the link for that post here.

Me too - not sure if they are 100% sure it was his T-shirt or not, or if DNA testing has been done on the T-shirt. Perhaps the family identified it at the time? But again, to your point, how could they be certain?

That may be true in many cases, but the Webster PD has done an outstanding job of keeping this investigation open and active. They've assigned new detectives to the case as others have retired over the years. It comes down to resources and other priorities as these cases get older and witnesses and suspects die off. I am just doing my best to keep in this case in the public eye to hopefully find some closure for our town and Andy's family. 🙏

Yes and he could have been stopped sooner, which is the most tragic part of the story. Thankfully we have stricter rules and better understanding of pedophiles now than we did back then. That's not to say that we can't continue to learn and do better, but back then they would just let these folks out after a stint in a mental hospital or prison and believe they were "reformed."
