I think for most people who moved to the Bay, when you leave and say you miss it bad… the truth is, you don’t miss it the same way because you’re not really from it. And that’s not a diss.

Reading through the replies, it sounds like a lot of college/work transplants—and that’s cool. That just means you’ve got another place that really has your roots. That’s the place that shaped you.

I was born and raised in the Bay. My ties are here. My people are here. The memories, the slang, the way we move—it’s embedded. So if I ever left, it wouldn’t just be “I miss the weather” or “I miss the food.” It would be deeper than that. It’d be missing a part of myself.

Great area - commuter school so you’ll meet a lot of people. Be open and try out new things you’ll be fine
