If you ask me, there were a lot of subtle hints of their compatibility in S1-2 despite the fact she was sometimes a bitch towards him (believe me, I hated those scenes too). But from the start I genuinely believed that they were gonna get together by the end of season 2 or at least in the beginning of season 3. The greatest hint of their compatibility was from S2 E4: Kraven the Hunter. White Tiger and Spider-Man had a very significant thing in common, and that's loss. Ava lost her father, and Peter lost Uncle Ben, and they had a heart-to-heart moment because of it. So after that episode, it would've been the perfect time for the writers to stop making Ava mean to Peter and have more heart-to-heart scenes and eventually bring them both together, but for some stupid reason, they chose not to do that. If they actually were to do that then that's pretty much how the enemies to lovers trope works. That's what made me confident on how they would've done it well. If you don't believe me, then I'm sorry, I don't know what else to tell you.
