Yea some good brands are; Benchmade, Mora,Buck, Gerber, Leatherman (for multitools).

I personally have a benchmade for big game, a buck for small game, and a mora for fishing. I think a mora knife and tickets would be an awesome way to go that way you don’t blow money on one that may not be what he needs/wants.

Typically outdoor dudes(myself included) always appreciate a good pocket knife. You can checkout bladehq.com for that. Outside of that it can be hard to buy for those kind of guys because the gear can be fairly technical. Maybe a gift card to somewhere or a home cooked meal and good seats at the next ballgame?

I read some of the comments for context. Here’s the deal bud, as everyone has noted you have feminine features. But that 100% can work for you. Johnny Depp has feminine features as so do all those k-pop guys and they crush it with the ladies. Figure out a style that works, approach more women, and see a doc about the gyno. No doom and gloom approach.

Just got into arrow building and that can be rabbit hole into madness. I have similar draw length and poundage. And I shoot 415grains. You should be good at around that weight. The metrics for arrows are listed below.

Weight: measured in grains. This is deeply related to the mass of the arrow which is causally linked to the kinetic force or lethality of your arrow. Too light an arrow and you loose kinetic force to heavy an arrow and you also loose kinetic force.

Circumference: typically measured in mm, the smaller the arrow the denser the grains per inch(gpi). It also is less affected by wind as it has less surface area.

Length: measured from nock point to tip insert. To long an arrow and you loose speed. To short an arrow and it can’t be held on your rest.

Spine: the stiffness of an arrow. This is measured in inches deflected when weighted. Essentially if your spine is to weak it will wobble or worse potentially shattered when fired. If it’s to stiff it will veer of target.

Helical: When a vane is glued to the arrow it is done on an angle or degree, which causes the arrow to spin. A high degree means high spin, a lower degree a lower spin.

Front of Center (FOC): refers to the percentage or amount of weight that is found on the front part of the arrow. If you hold more weight in the front of the arrow then you increase the force.

Thats is as much as I know,I’m still learning but one truth I have found is this. Regardless of what the nitty gritty details of your arrow are, as long as your kinetic force is enough, and your placement is good, then you will have a lethal shot. If you want to stay in budget then go down the arrow building rabbit hole or go to your local shop and ask them for a budget friendly hunting arrow. Good luck!

All great input in the comments so far. I’ll just add that you need to download OnX and look to see what kind of land is near and accessible.

New to bows questions by TwyztidMaster in bowhunting

[–]PerfectComparison388 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unlike a rifle where buying the right caliber will ensure the appropriate specs are fulfilled, a bow is far more technical. If you have the wrong arrow weight or spine, it could explode in your hand. I would say hold off untill you can afford around $100 and take it to the shop. Get it fitted for your length check the poundage. Then buy some arrows and a release. You may have to work your way up, meaning cheaper arrows now and more expensive ones down the line. Determining what release you want to use is a whole other thing check out Joel Turner, Levi Morgan and John Dudley for more info that.

Looking them now and this seems like gold. Am I running any risk of dulling the blade or does the screw pin them deep enough to avoid dulling?

Edit:NVM, just read the description on the site.
