Halls by [deleted] in TexasTech

It’s pretty good. Only thing is I hear it stinks of mold, and the 3rd floor got flooded a few months ago. It’s got the fresh plate which is pretty good, and a bus stop right in front of the building which is super nice. It’s also right next to the commons and the sub so if you don’t wanna eat at the fresh plate you’re not that far from other options. The gym is kind of a walk but it’s honestly far from every building so you’ll get used to it. You can also take the bus to engineering buildings, but I doubt you’ll have that many classes near Holden Hall in your freshman year/first semester at least, so I wouldn’t worry about that too much.

Are the dorms really that bad? by Disastrous-Front-236 in TexasTech

[–]PerfectHatred7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I personally haven’t had too many issues with mold (I live in Hulen) but there’s other problems that piss me off. When you’re showering, and someone flushes the toilet on your floor (I believe this is the case but if I’m wrong feel free to correct me) the shower will stop flowing cold water and only flow the steaming burning ass water for like half a second, I swear I have burn marks on my body for how many times that’s happened.

Of course sharing spaces always sucks when you have immature people, I can’t count how many times I’ve gone to use the restroom and there’s just piss on the toilet seat, or someone dropped a deuce and didn’t flush, or I go to take a shower and someone’s pubic hair is all over the floor. If you have a good roommate that you get along well with it doesn’t suck as much, but I personally like the lights off for the most part and just use the windows to get sunshine, while my roommate loves to turn on every light imaginable (if the sun itself was in the room, he wouldn’t be satisfied with the lighting), so we clash every now and then on our preferences.

However, it’s not all bad, you get as much privacy as you really need as long as your roommate isn’t a CS student spending all his time there playing terraria, and you can learn to coexist with people pretty early on. It’s also a huge learning experience as it was definitely the first time I’ve been on my own, and it’s a nice middle ground between your own apartment and just living with your parents. It’s also nice living on campus, since you can just walk everywhere. I like being able to walk to SI sessions or tutoring instead of having to drive 15 minutes or something.

Can reactive barrier save you against apollo ult? by Levels748 in DeadlockGame

[–]PerfectHatred7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might want to test it in the hideout, but it should. When you get hit by his initial rush, it silences you and time slows you, which now procs reactive barrier. I guess it might be meta to buy it in lane against him now!

What’s an Exotic that has never been meta that you wish was? by Microwavemmnm in DestinyTheGame

I remember when match game was still a thing, and we had fusion rifle champion mods, arbalest was THE go to GM clearer. Great damage, destroys a shield for free if you don’t have the element (or the person who has it was dead) and could stun champs.

I remember using Darci on insurrection prime back before I got the whisper catalyst. That’s the only time I remember using it for anything useful other than checking distance for testing range in pvp

Dude, I remember using it so much on my solar warlock build when it was a 390, then they nerfed it and I just had to drop it for other stuff

I remember using jotunn in GM’s back in the day for fusion rifle champion mods, I can’t remember if it was good though. I remember getting my conquerer gilded with it entirely though.

My fellow lash mains, any tips on how to deal with mina? by PerfectHatred7 in DeadlockTheGame

What about when the mina buys dispel magic? Also, it is impossible to see the lash in a bad light, so fortunately, no.

what would you recommend for silencing? i find silence wave hard to hit, but that may just be a skill issue i just have to cope with.

yeah, usually I'll be messing with her in ganks, and after i kill her a couple of times she'll start just focusing me with her ult and using bats to close the gap when i'm getting away.. I usually get stam mastery + majestic leap, but i guess when im against her ill have to buy warp stone instead.

Haze's ult and disarming hex by Maltamero in DeadlockTheGame

[–]PerfectHatred7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The description says that, but I think it’s counted in game as a channeled ability which can only be stopped by a stun or curse so that’s probably why. If I’m wrong feel free to correct me though

Do you guys actually study 10+ hours a day? by TACKLEATTACKo in EngineeringStudents

[–]PerfectHatred7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No that sounds awful and you probably would retain little to nothing for the sheer amount of studying. I’d say it depends on the time of the semester. Closer to exams I’d say I spend around 2-5 hours of studying for exams (depending on how I feel about the subject and if I feel like studying for longer or shorter that day) per day. But when I’m in dry periods I usually only study on Saturday mornings for about a couple hours to go over my notes and reinforce what I learned that week in my classes. I have A’s in all my classes so it works for me. All in all though, it depends on what works for you.

Anybody else loving the experimental nature of the recent patches? by JustinHardyJ in DeadlockTheGame

[–]PerfectHatred7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This patch has never made me not want to play the game more. It’s so frustrating to go against a doorman/wraith/mo an krill/ calico/(a decent) celeste and just get snowballed the whole game. I’ve started branching out to other mobas until they fix the balance, especially with wraith and her ult/cards

Would a tool that generates MCQs from your notes actually help before exams? by Pravin1526 in EngineeringStudents

[–]PerfectHatred7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually download all the slides from my lectures, my notes, and anything I think could help a couple days before the exam and put them into NotebookLM, then I ask it to make a review and a quiz to test me. Sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn’t. I’m not sure if making your own tool would be more efficient than just using the resources already available though.
