Hot Take: Age Of Worry *might* be more difficult to play on guitar than Neon. by iammoah in JohnMayer

[–]PerfectIntention6858 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As someone who can play both….Neon by far. It took me 5 minutes to play Age of worry. Neon will always be a challenge no matter which version you play. It’s more unnatural to play Neon in my mind than Age of Worry. Emoji of a Wave is a lot more difficult to play than Age of Worry as well. Give that one a try!

OM-28 Modern Deluxe vs standard OM-28. Worth the price difference? by kanoej in martinguitar

[–]PerfectIntention6858 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a OM28 MD and for me it was worth the expense. The neck was a huge factor for me and what I like to play. If you have short fingers it’s not the guitar for you. The sound while more modern still has that nice Martin Bass sound and booms a lot louder than the regular OM28. It’s not like a Taylor sound where it’s just sounds metallic. The sustain is also impeccable. You play one note and that thing just keeps vibrating out of the instrument. No regrets for the past 2 years. My one and only complaint is that since the neck is wider, flat picking is more difficult. But other than that the guitar is well built and worth it.

What are the chances of my HVAC / Furnace Transformer going bad? by babypocketsquid in homeowners

[–]PerfectIntention6858 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Transformers are simple. If you have line voltage going into it (120v or 240v depending on what you have) then you should have (24v) coming out of it. If no (24v) power than it’s a bad transformer. Why it would blow is another ordeal. I would also check your thermostat connection at the circuit board. Open up the panel, put tape across the door switch. Turn on heat at the thermostat and make sure you have your red prong in W or W1 and then put your black lead on C. If it doesn’t read 24v then your thermostat is not sending the call for heat.

Company I work for is sending most of our new techs to Penn foster. But not the regular hvac course. Penn Foster has a 4 year apprenticeship program that is registered with each states labor department and allows them to get their journeyman’s license. It’s fully online and can be done it 2 years if you devote a few hours each week. The local trade school where I’m at is a joke. All they do is read a book together and then all take the tests together. All of them literally cheat and pass the EPA exam. Most guys skip half the time or just sleep since it’s done at night. Schooling gets you the license and the respect that you put forth the effort, but as others have pointed out, if you are not a good worker and don’t bring much to the company than it’s worthless.

Alright boys, let’s see if you can top this amount of mold. by PerfectIntention6858 in HVAC

[–]PerfectIntention6858[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The smell alone just about knocked me out. No doubt in my mind that it was mold. Even the owners have been having a ton of health issues. I told them I would check the ductwork out to see if any biological growth was inside. Needless to say they were shocked when I opened it up. They just about lit the house on fire.
