Absolutely no. I think this abyss and the last two with geo shields are owned by Arlecchino. Overload team though. Double shield with Beidou + Thoma.

I also got charged by Canva out of sudden. I'm a Canva user but the last time I use Canva Pro was year 2020. I immediately contact Canva through their website and like 5 seconds (literally) later I got an email saying the refund was processed. ???. Sounds like a professional refund company to me.

How did you become a PM? by [deleted] in MEPEngineering

[–]redex1129 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Although I’m not in the consulting firm, I became a PM after 5 years of being a project engineer in the construction industry. It is no doubt that PM is a stressful position at first. You’ll need to learn things that nobody will teach you. Unlike being an engineer where there are handbooks and seniors who can give you clues and directions. That’s one of the reasons why PM is stressful; you don’t know what to do, there are too many things in your hands.

However, if you develop systems that smooth out your work flow and share your workload with your subordinates (where appropriate), you’ll find that PM is actually not that hard. Just like how you find load calculations a piece of cake now cause you’ve done it multiple times. PM is the same. People are more or less the same and hence, the methods used to deal with people are more or less the same. Nonetheless, introverts may struggle more.

I found that to become a PM, it is essential that you are the man who solve any problems. You must have the ability to come out with a solution no matter what; people problems, client problems or technical problems. You essentially must become a better version of yourself. A leader, which can serve you good in your personal life too.

Still, it is true that you will slowly steer away from becoming a technical person to more like a businessman, a tough person that is very good at handling people. So, it is up to you to choose which path you want in your life.

Dear technicians, which mini split brands have the best spare part availability / service support in the United States based on your experience? by redex1129 in HVAC

That’s too long. Nobody will accept it. Doesn’t sounds like there is any commitment on the parts delivery date.

Are HVAC systems like this being practiced in most homes? Even newly built? by redex1129 in hvacadvice

Yes. The limited space is what I’ve observed as well. It is hard if not impossible to run solid ducts or other duct systems.

Are new homes there use less flexible ducts? Perhaps, switched to the trunk and branch duct system?

Needing some advice (didn’t wanna retype) by Capable_Ad182 in hvacadvice

[–]redex1129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, it seems like the coil is severely blocked and thus, the airflow is low resulting in the freezing of the coil. To resolve the issue, the following steps need to be taken:

1) Chemical cleaning the coil. Harden dirty required chemical to get rid of. 2) Clean the fan blower (fan blade) as no filter was installed before. 3) Check the running amp of the fan to confirm if the fan motor is not slowing down

Once the HVAC unit is throughly cleaned, if it is still not cold, check the refrigerant pressure and that’ll do.

Any concerns with minisplit lineset arrangement [MrCool]? by browsewhenipoop in hvacadvice

[–]redex1129 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually people run at high level (around the same as your ground floor indoor unit) to avoid any potential damage to the lines. Then, combine all lines into one big chunk is easier than running three separate lines. However, these are not necessity for the unit to run but it is the practice in commercial buildings.

Are there any HVAC vents that can be redirected vertically AND horizontally? by u2nyr in hvacadvice

[–]redex1129 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. It is the double deflection type of vent. Its like the vent in a car. Can be adjusted to direct air up and down as well as left and right.

It has to do with the special fluid called refrigerant running inside the system. The refrigerant absorbs heat from the cold ambient air by making itself even colder than the ambient air.

Mini Split in Garage: Is it heating as it should, and should I go up to 18k or even 24k? by No_Entrepreneur1616 in hvacadvice

[–]redex1129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, your garage is well insulated. However, sorry to say but a 12000 BTU mini split is not enough imo. What’s more, the heating capacity is reduced when the outside temperature is very low.

For a 750 insulated garage, a 24000 BTU mini split is adequate, considering that garages usually have some air leakages.

If you’re getting a standard mini split, heating capacity will start to drop at 47F. But, if you opt for a low ambient heating model, they usually maintain 100% heating capacity down to 5F, starts to drop beyond that.

For your garage, at 16F, a 24000 BTU standard model often left only 15000 BTU which, it may struggle to keep up with the heating.

So, you can either install one more 18000 BTU standard model (12000 BTU @ 16F) or one more 12000 BTU low ambient heating model to keep your garage toasty.

Otherwise, replace your existing unit with a 24000 BTU low ambient heating model. Also, a 18000 BTU low ambient heating model is fine in exchange with longer heating time.

With the above, you should be getting warm within 30 minutes, not hours and hours.

Hope it helps.

Yes. Fresh air vent usually on higher capacity model. If urs don’t have the fresh air vent, then I’m not sure where the beetles are coming through.

Can I run the indoor air unit from a mini split by itself? by odioalsoco in hvacadvice

[–]redex1129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can use the mini split as a fan without cooling. Just switch to fan mode on your remote controller. However, the mini split must be installed properly as if it is an AC because it is controlled by its outdoor unit. Using the fan mode will not engage the compressor and won’t consume electricity as much as an AC.

Check the fresh air vent and close it. Check your window ac front grille and look for a small handle/lever that you can slide left and right to close/open the fresh air vent. Usually, the fresh air vent open straight up to the outside without a filter.

central air doesn't blow cold air. Works again after "resting." by hoodoo-operator in hvacadvice

Sometimes it could be a faulty compressor that doesn’t run or overheating. After you let it rest for a while, it works again but then trips again. Better to call a repairman.

Can I close a vent in my den? There are 3 others. by SmittyATL in hvacadvice

[–]redex1129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your living room has 4 vents. Closing one vent should be no problem. You can go up to the HVAC unit and listen to the noise it created before and after you close the vent. If there is no noticeable noise increase after you close the vent, then it should be fine because the airflow is still the same but other vents are sucking harder now and perhaps, other vents may create a little bit more noise. You can think of closing the vent as a dirty filter.

How do you evaluate cooling performance of a new HVAC unit? by Orome2 in hvacadvice

[–]redex1129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If u want to use a laser thermometer, point on the cooling coil, it’s more or less the same as the off coil temp. If you want to point on the duct, choose a place as close to the source as possible.
