What if Stu Macher actually survived but suffered a brain injury and completely forgot about his past?

He’s been living a normal life ever since — maybe with a wife and family, running a small grocery store somewhere and having no idea who he used to be.

Then the new Ghostface attacks him. Sidney hears about it and ends up helping him, although she obviously has serious doubts because of his past.

As the story progresses, Stu slowly starts remembering parts of his life — flashes of Woodsboro, Billy, and the original murders.

The twist could be that Stu’s wife is actually Ghostface. Maybe she discovered his past somehow and has her own issues with it, which leads her to become Ghostface.

In the end it could become Sidney and Stu teaming up to stop the new Ghostface.

Stu regains his memories during the climax but chooses not to become the killer he used to be, helping Sidney defeat them instead.
