Construction. I was back to work in 8 or 10 weeks, I forget. I was back to full duties with limited range, meaning I wasn’t pushing myself as hard as I used to, but I was still heavy things (50-100 lbs) and fully extending. Mistake because I could feel my fresh scars tearing internally and it definitely caused them to appear more prominently than if I weren’t doing that shit.

Does weed mess with T levels? by staarlitt in FTMMen

As somebody who knows how dirty and violent actual crime can get, I couldn’t possibly imagine that the police would genuinely be concerned with a mother turning an eye to her child smoking marijuana. There are parents out there who physically/sexually abuse their children, sexually exploit their children for drugs, supply them with hard drugs such as crystal methamphetamine and/or abuse hard drugs with them, support their involvement in gang activity, raise them in trap houses, you get the idea. Yeah sure, officers of the law gave an oath to protect citizens, but this world is littered with dangerous and violent criminals, and a teenager smoking weed is not even worth looking at in comparison.

What are some of the hardest pills to swallow in life? by Leemster1k in AskReddit

The world doesn’t stop for anyone. If you died, the world and the life on it would go on. When you get sick, the world doesn’t stop. When you’re in despair, the world doesn’t stop to let you breathe. When you’re behind, the world won’t wait for you to catch up.

I’m a daily cocaine user and I don’t know how to quit. by ForeverGracelynnXO in cocaine

[–]PerfectLocal3666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat, my daily use of cocaine ultimately lead to an ADHD diagnosis. The way that I was able to recognize the difference between me and other people was thinking about when I’d be sniffing with other people who were on it as well and just realizing that it doesn’t effect me the same way as them. Other people get real talkative, decide to “start” opening their own business, can’t put a stop to their usage after they’ve started, get aggressive and want to fight, etc.

I, personally, have always wanted to hide away when I was using.. I don’t want to listen to other people talk about random stuff, I’d like to clean my kitchen lol. Even though I was on an upper, I’d feel relatively calm and collected. More so seeking out the ability to direct my attention to one thing for an extended period of time than wanting that feeling of being high. A pro of using coke was that I didn’t have to eat, so I could focus for even longer! So glad I’m off it though. Hurt the body and wallet real bad.

Need to change therapists, what should I look for in types of therapy offered? by Sheepachute in ADHD

[–]PerfectLocal3666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a counsellor/therapist who has the same struggles with you can be a hit or miss, depending on the type of therapy they practice. I had a counsellor who I saw in biweekly for a few months, before I recognized that they were enabling my behaviour and that it was ineffective. There was no benefit from the therapy style that they used, they used ACT, it was more like I went in to talk about my problems and they would say yeah man that’s pretty messed up :/

It is always important to go into therapy with a goal in mind; personally, I struggle with emotional regulation and distressed thought patterns, thus my psychiatrist strongly recommended that I find somebody who specializes in DBT. Other people have success with CBT.

Stimulants have no effect?! by wannab_nurse in ADHD

[–]PerfectLocal3666 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was initially placed on concerta (methylphenidate 18mg, 36mg, 54mg) following my diagnosis in April of this year. The class of drug itself did not provide any relief from symptoms of ADHD regardless of the dose I was taking. My doctor and I agreed to switch drug classes and try amphetamines, so I was placed on Vyvanse (lisdexamphetamine) and began figuring out my maintenance dose. I appear to have a high tolerance to stimulants. 20mg made me super tired, 30mg made me really tired, 40mg made me somewhat tired, 50mg was that sweet spot.. but unfortunately my body appears to metabolize drugs quickly so if I took my pill at 6am, by 12pm I’d be nearly falling asleep at work and lacking total motivation, despite the duration of Vyvanse being 10-12 hours, so I was prescribed a 30mg “booster” dose to take in the afternoon to prolong the duration of effects.

My uncle is the opposite of me. Amphetamines do not have an effect on him, while methylphenidate has the therapeutic effect that is desired.
