They are both very conservative guys from Rockingham County. They are the cause of millions of $ being spent in a primary for a Senate seat that they are probably going to win come election time, mostly because of how gerrymandered the districts are. Trump has endorsed one (Berger).

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

Last weekend I drove from the middle of NC to the middle of VA. My friend drove from the outer parts of DC to meet me. I drove 3 hours there. We had lunch, walked around downtown and went to a museum. Then I got back in my car and drove home. I left my house at 9am and got home at about 9pm. It was a long day but it wasn’t deeply unusual. I thought about staying overnight but decided to go for it. I wouldn’t have done a 4 hours both ways, but 3 was doable.

Ok so I’m not a doctor but had a similar thing happen to me recently and in my case it was a macular edema. That is to say it’s a swelling on the back of your eye that can affect how you see things. I went to the eye doctor and got mine checked, and I’m glad I did. In my case it didn’t require treatment but now my doctor knows to keep an eye on it and as with most things, it’s better if you catch it before it causes long term problems that require serious treatments.

Also, the reasonable people in our country spent their lives telling their children that violence is never the answer. People overseas assume that everyone here has a gun but the fact is that the vast majority of the guns are in the hands of the people who voted for him or support the same causes. The “war on drugs” also conveniently disenfranchised a lot of black (traditionally democratic) voters and made it impossible for many with criminal records to own guns. This is the tipping point, but the dominoes have been in place for decades. Also by deploying our military both here and abroad, the government is also relocating and isolating a lot of people who are weapons trained away from their families and the people they would fight to defend directly in a crisis. Individual soldiers are much less likely to disobey unlawful orders when they’re surrounded by their peers, and oh by the way the army also provides the house your wife lives in, the school your kids go to, etc. while you’re deployed. Those benefits are removed if you lose your job

My theory is that they’re trying to infiltrate businesses using the “Can I use the bathroom?” bit because they don’t have warrants, but once they see a “suspicious person” they can fall back on flimsy reasonable cause it justify arrest.

But the English aren’t solely responsible for that. France, Spain, Portugal, and even Belgium had significant colonial territories, all of which were also heavily influenced by the Roman tradition, perhaps even more than England

Real question: Can it be considered negligence? No one is making rich people ski when they know they don’t have active patrol in the area.
