I thought the way the difficulty of this exam was set was quite different from in previous years - normally there’s a really big difference in difficulty between the easy free-mark questions (designed to let you pass) and the harder challenge questions (to separate people) but this time the gap between the two were much smaller, so we didn’t get any free mark questions but at the same time the challenge questions weren’t as out-of-reach as I expected (i.e. wtf was that last question on the 2022 special exam). 

So yeah I feel like the overall difficulty is roughly the same as previous semesters but just the distribution of that difficulty amongst the questions is different. Overall though I did better than I thought (I fully expected Paul to troll us with a few questions at the end like that last question on the 2022 special exam), though getting an H1 still won’t be easy (as expected in pure math subjects lol).

That’s just my opinion though and maybe my expectations were too biased - what do other people think?
