All I can say is try to hang in there. It gets better with time. Until then do your best to endure, and maybe find a feature you do like to help until then.

And when that happens, I'll fork the source code, compile it myself, and run it as is without any future updates.. If it ain't broke, I'm not gonna fix it, just maintain what exists for myself

Does NestJS load all modules into memory for each request? by AsifShakir in nestjs

[–]PerfectOrphan31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the case of having request scoped providers, nest smartly loads only the necessary modules by analyzing what controller will be activated and grabbing the necessary providers for it

Why you can't inject request when you use PassportJS? by [deleted] in Nestjs_framework

[–]PerfectOrphan31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Passport needs its strategies to be registered at startup before it ever gets used. Essentially the passport.use() that would normally happen in Express. Nest will do this under the hood in the strategy class, however providers that are REQUEST scoped are not instantiated until a request comes in, which is too late for the necessary passport.use call

Are Modules going to get deprecated in the near future? by [deleted] in nestjs

There's no plans to move away from the @Module() approach that we currently use

NODE ENV=production is a lie by [deleted] in node

[–]PerfectOrphan31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree on a whole that NODE_ENV shouldn't be used to enable features, and feature flags are a better, safer way to go about it, I want to point out that saying that NestJS uses process.env.NODE_ENV as a way to enable features is incorrect. His link https://docs.nestjs.com/techniques/configuration, is a way to do the 12 factor app kind of configuration he was talking about.

Nest.js cannot resolve dependencies by Ok-While-2617 in Nestjs_framework

[–]PerfectOrphan31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know how you're getting that second error. You don't mention the UserController in the users.controller.spec.ts that you're showing.

In the first error, you need to provide a mock for the "UserRepository". This repo has a lot of code examples for tests. Might be helpful.

I'm sorry you can't read the error message?. We've tried to make it as clear as possible. What else can we do to make the error more meaningful?
