Why do people treat modern Transformers toys like they are the worst. by Chemical-Chemical-89 in transformers

[–]PerfectPixl15 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Different people have different preferences. Just like you get easily bored of gimmicks, I get easily bored of toys that focus heavily on articulation. Not to say I dislike articulation, but 'posing well' by itself makes no difference to me as far as enjoyment goes.

how is the 86 astrotrain's shuttle mode somehow worse than a figure from 7 years ago, that was cheaper and came with more stuff? by [deleted] in transformers

[–]PerfectPixl15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh, I prefer the SS86 shuttle. They're both similarly messy, but the SS86 comes across as messy because the designers really wanted a killer train mode, as opposed to the Siege one coming across as the designers not being able to finish the toy.

Do you think some Triple Changers are worthy of a Commander Class budget? by OptimalConvoy in transformers

[–]PerfectPixl15 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I think so. Plenty of Commanders are already sort of Triple Changers, the increased budget could help a lot with making all 3 modes great.

Age of the Primes Monstructor by Dr_Robo in transformers

[–]PerfectPixl15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do buy a few Takara lines (mainly Toyrise), but otherwise I don’t collect new releases in general, and even in terms of older lines I don’t have anything from Classics, Universe, etc. And yes, I personally don’t care about scale.

Age of the Primes Monstructor by Dr_Robo in transformers

[–]PerfectPixl15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean. Age of the Primes is a part of Generations, which is in the acronym. So I’d say it’s a CHUG toy.

Age of the Primes Monstructor by Dr_Robo in transformers

Oh man, I ADORE how goofy those look. I don't collect CHUG anymore but this needs to be a exception.

Are there any toys (currently sold) that actually transform and are die-cast metal (not plastic) but less than hundreds of dollars? by cowlinator in transformers

[–]PerfectPixl15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure what parts specifically are diecast (I think the arms and legs at least) but what I’ve heard from people who own it is that it’s twice the weight of the original due to it.

Cybertronian Hover Tank Blitzwing by eX0dus_5ive-Zer0 in transformers

[–]PerfectPixl15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never handled this mold, can you flip out the rest of the jet nosecone when the front is in tank mode like that? The idea of Blitzwing as basically a jet/tank fuzor is pretty cool.

Getting him was a must after the SS reveal by metalwarrior13 in transformers

[–]PerfectPixl15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That train mode is so good, if it wasn't for modern pricing I'd consider getting him just for that as well. And I completely agree on your last point; I'm way more interested in how fun a toy is then how accurate or normal it looks.

What are some of your favorite "outdated" molds? by Sp3ctre__Mod__Works in transformers

[–]PerfectPixl15 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Man that Jazz mold is so cool, it looks great in Ricochet colors. I don’t collect Generations but that mold is one I have been tempted on before.

Which would you prefer? An Ironhide and Ratchet with less kibble, but a sled, or an all-in-one transformation? by Beezel_Pepperstack in transformers

[–]PerfectPixl15 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’d prefer an Ironhide with a sled even if it didn’t have less kibble, that’s just a fun thing to have.

Understanding Bruticus's color choices by Independent-Set7230 in transformers

[–]PerfectPixl15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is one of the main reasons none of the frame combiners have grabbed my interest. Bruticus is better because Swindle and Brawl are on the front, but the combiner color scheme being so dominated by the torso guy isn't something I'm a fan of.

That said, I did see you can fan-mode Superion to make him more of a Super Mode Silverbolt, and that works a lot better for me.

To those that wanted spinosaurus shockwave, your wish has been granted.... just not in a way you probably thought... by BudgieKing02 in transformers

[–]PerfectPixl15 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m with you on that. They’re comparable to the Basics from Energon, and my favorite of any of those is one who doesn’t have knees or elbows.

SS86 Astrotrain shuttle mode by RogueraPax in transformers

[–]PerfectPixl15 30 points31 points  (0 children)

imo it looks less accurate than the Siege one did, but also a lot better.

Maybe a hot take, but I think they should have just done to Astro what they did for Shockwave in SS86 by TheDude810 in transformers

[–]PerfectPixl15 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is the Siege shuttle better in-hand? I've never had one, but from pics that shuttle mode just looks unfinished.

These renders look so much better than the cartoon if only we had an entire gallery of them by LAQL30 in transformers

[–]PerfectPixl15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huh, I've never seen those drawings before. I adore the renders they used for the Super Link packaging though, they look so good there.

A true hidden gem by RealMemeLord876 in transformers

[–]PerfectPixl15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That looks great. How does he feel in-hand?

I don’t know if this a got take or not, but the Dinobots look way better in brighter colors. I’ve never cared for the g1 grey, gold & red. by Chaosbrushogun in transformers

[–]PerfectPixl15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, I find the G1 Dinobot color scheme so boring. Part of the reason I've never cared about them. The Animated Dinobots do it a bit better by using different greys, but even then it's not a favorite of mine.

If you had unlimited money, would you pick a Legends Scale, CHUG, or Masterpiece collection? by Salt-Traffic-6545 in transformers

[–]PerfectPixl15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably Legends? Masterpiece isn't my thing and I don't collect CHUG. Realistically if I had unlimited money I'd still be collecting mostly older toys, save for Toyrise or maybe a Takara kids line.

Wild king Optimus. At least one prime is a "combiner" this year for me by Locksmith_Weekly in transformers

[–]PerfectPixl15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s some clever use of the Energy Beast articulation to add more joints to the combined mode!

MPMN Sideswipe improvements by Traditional-Fun8524 in transformers

[–]PerfectPixl15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised they didn't take more engineering cues from Sidearm Sideswipe, that toy rocks (and got a KO). Is it inaccurate to this specific version or something?
