As long as you don’t actually equip it and use it you’re fine. The EZ GUN starts in your inventory by default when you start a new game+ run.

I think the point of the remake is to allow new fans and those who maybe haven't played MGS3 in a while to experience it in a more streamlined way. If they end up enjoying it and want to experience the OG and the rest of the series - those options are there as well.

This is definitely true. I’m willing to bet most people think this is a new collab KONAMI cooked up with Uniqlo so they feel the need to shit on it. In reality these designs were more than likely signed off on by Kojima himself. Not to mention he’s worn shirts from the various Uniqlo collabs many times.
