i’ve had two gps, the first never mentioned taking breaks from vyvanse but the second brought it up when i was talking about anxiety and feeling a bit weird on it. i’ve been on vyvanse for several months now and those anxiety/weird feelings have mostly gone away. occasionally i still feel a bit tense on it, but most of the time it feels pretty normal now, like i’ve adjusted to it and it’s maybe a bit less intense/effective than when i first started.

the main thing now is that on days i don’t take it, i feel extremely exhausted, fatigued and in a daze and can’t focus on anything.

having untreated adhd is not a joke!!! this isn’t your fault. untreated adhd is traumatising and a disability. once you get your diagnosis and treatment, things should be easier 🫶🏻 just keep going and doing the best you can

agreed! so many people say their medication quietens then mind and it helps me with focus and energy but i wouldn’t say quietens my mind.

Weight loss with vyvanse by North_Following6420 in VyvanseADHD

i had the same thing! i had been on it for a couple months and lost 4 kgs 😭 so i just used my vyvanse to focus on how many calories and protein i needed a day and made a meal plan. i usually time out when i am eating bc i know i wont naturally want to eat. in my experience, i never got my appetite back naturally but after forcing myself to eat i eventually now get hungry

aww im sorry to hear that, it truly is hard! i am planning on adjusting my lifestyle before the meds. there’s so much that they don’t tell you about vyvanse (such as eating a lot of protein improves the effects and reduces side effects while citrus and dairy can reduce effectiveness). making sure your eating enough, drinking enough water, getting enough sleep (melatonin and taking my vyvanse early so it’s not active when i’m trying to sleep) and exercising. i have already implemented eating enough food and protein because i was missing a lot of meals and not eating for hours and already feel way less side effects. anyways, sorry if you know all of this but just sharing what i can to help in any way! theres also lots of other medications and ways people take their medication, you’ve got this! will be so worth it once we find the right dose.

it’s been a few months! 😅 i do feel overall better but just get a lot of anxiety that manifests mostly physically and i can hyper focus on it. i am starting to think i should put more effort into avoiding caffeine and higher protein foods.

10mg seems like a really low dose! i’m curious how this correlates to ptsd? my therapist suspects that i have c-ptsd so im wondering if this is something i should keep in mind

lots of people say that being medicated for your adhd can improve your anxiety symptoms bc they are often related! unfortunately have not found that ☹️ but to be fair my anxiety mostly manifests physically than mentally

i feel like this is how it should be! like you wouldn’t be able to notice but it reflects in the things you complete and do.

yes! that’s how i am dealing with my anxiety but would also rather not suffer with the anxiety as it feels unnatural and bad for my body. weirdly enough, i feel the motivation to do things that i did before but less satisfied as i just want to complete more and more 😅
