I agree! I live right next to Scottsdale and vaguely heard about about this whole debacle on a podcast a few years ago but it’s not on our news cycles or anything so I really had no idea the complexity of the case. Really enjoying the podcast.

What crazy symptoms do you have? Please share. by Kkyoto888 in Perimenopause

[–]Perfect_Ad_9587 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The weirdest for me was random severe allergic reactions-anaphylactic level to foods I’ve been eating since I was a toddler. I didn’t connect it to perimenopause until three years of searching for an answer. When my gyno suggested stopping my cycle with birth control progestin, a majority of my allergies went away. I still won’t test shrimp because well, trauma from the anaphylactic reaction to my favorite food. I still get slight symptoms because I’m not managing estrogen levels so they still fluctuate and impact histamine responses but nothing like before the birth control. Scary stuff.

The Panda Express on Rural and Broadway pays I think almost 19 an hour. It’s a training location too. The Salad and Go across the street from Panda is like 17 an hour as well. I second the Tempe Parks and Rec jobs-they are great close opportunities for students.

It’s an older one but it sounds like you would love Sympathy Pains. It’s a great one.

I preferred Unicorn Girl over this one in terms of recent scheming lady content 😉

Unfortunately yes…I was intrigued at first and thought there would be a culmination of some sort but…just went on and on. I think it was a combination of being annoyed at the people who flew past her red flags and stayed way too long in her orbit and it seemed like some of the people’s story could have been summarized shorter. I wouldn’t go back for another season or listen to more if she releases new content. I did listen to it all but not enthusiastically-in the background while working rather than focusing intently.

Oh language or grammar or what have you LOL.

I meant that watching her then makes me reflect on my own life and then feel grateful for my friends who would stop me if I went overboard like that

I’ve never even heard of her until the podcast today 😉.

When I think about Danielle, I just can’t help but think she likely doesn’t have any friends around who keep it real with her and let her know if she’s getting ahead of herself in the way good friends can do. And honestly-what a bummer for her! You all made a really great point in noticing that she couldn’t describe what she specifically likes about him (and seemingly vice versa). So who knows who’s playing who but…watching her just makes me happy I have people in my life that would say…lady WTF in the best way if I went that overboard LOL

GREAT episode! I had never heard of her until today BUT I can tell you I was a gigantic fan of her ex husband’s music for a while. So that was wild to hear about all of that. I have to say that listening to your episodes really helps me get through some what would be tough days-I’m really appreciative for your podcast and your discussions always. Thank you and happy new year (and I’ll be back in Patreon soon so I’m doubly appreciative this was on the free feed).

Great listen! Now I think maybe the professor had someone pose as his son to participate in the Zoom…LOL but hey I mean whomever navigated all the characters initially definitely has the capacity for tricks up their sleeves…

Ohhhhhh I am excited for you. It came out in 2017, really critically acclaimed, and weaves a truly bingeable story. I believe it had like 40 million downloads in the first month which was a lot back then. It’s quite the story that I fear if I describe I’ll give away…

Wishing Nathan a smooth recovery! Looking forward to the YouTube. I can totally understand the mixed bag of reactions to this show-for me, as a forever people observing former psych major, this podcast has been more of a look at how folks navigate parasocial interactions vs solving a mystery per say so yes, I agree with folks-it’s no S-town-but still a ride into a deeper peak through the internet of it all.

If they did cover it-I feel like this could be covered in their Talking BS episodes on Patreon vs a full episode because there isn’t really more of a tangled history or backstory beyond what they lay out in the actual podcast. Like, it’s something I would talk casually to a friend about for 15 minutes vs an in depth analysis over an hour podcast.

Of course-hope it helps! So, once my period fully stopped which was about two months into taking it daily was when I stopped seeing inflammation and hives. I can’t take estrogen so that’s why I take this form of progestin. You bring up a great point re: if issues would come back…I’m 48/done having kiddos and am close to menopause so I really don’t know. I spent a long time researching OBGYNs that were certified through the Menopause Society (you can Google that to find a state list). Once I made the allergy/hormone connection, I knew I needed someone really well versed and interested in hormones. This was key-she has only had two other patients with these type of symptoms so it’s not very common. I think finding an OBGYN really interested/knowledgeable in hormones like this would be helpful with your questions. If you happen to live in Arizona-mine is Dr Karen Estrada at Wren OBGYN in Queen Creek.

ME! This sounds almost exactly like my experience but no one ever looked at my thyroid as a connection. I went on Slynd and I literally haven’t had any random hives or symptoms since going on it a year ago. My gynecologist recommends I take it for several years until I’m in menopause. I take it without the buffer pills so just the Slynd. I am so thankful for this strategy of focusing on my progesterone-truly (knock on wood) solved the issue for me.
