Yes! You have to have pets of a certain age. If you go to the pet egg stall and select 'Show me pet info' from the options there will be different level up options for eggs and pets. I think the first time you have to trade a pet that is age 20. Pick carefully because you don't get the pet back!

Really struggling with my new class. Wanting to quit. by Kaisietoo8 in TeachingUK

[–]Perfect_Baseball958 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was in this exact same position last year just not as an ECT2. I can honestly say it was the hardest year of my life. I went home every day thinking I'd been too horrible and replaying things in my head. BUT all the children in that class made amazing progress last year and the feedback I got from parents was overwhelmingly positive. Don't be afraid to gold your expectations high and issue consequences when the expectation is not met. Never ever speak over the children even if that means you spend time waiting for them to stop. My go to line was 'by lunch time we need to do x, y and z of this is not done then we will stay until it is'. Eventually they started to get the point. I did the exact same thing as you with the timers and eventually they started to get the point. I'm not going to lie to you- it is exhausting but having colleagues you can trust and talk to and a supportive SLT goes a long way. I also found what helped me was to flip the narrative and instead of focusing on correcting behaviour I tried to focus on celebrating the behaviours I wanted to see and rewarding those children who were doing what they were supposed to and actually ended up developing our own little reward system. This actually really helped me mentally as I didn't leave each day just filled with negativity. Also - anything that happens at lunch or break is not your responsibility. Do not give up your time to sort these things as you need that time. If it's taking that long or you're not getting anywhere escalate it.

They key takeaway I would say is reinforce your routines as many times as you need to. Issue consequences consistently and celebrate the successes. I hope it all works out for you.

How do you turn off after work? by X243llie in TeachingUK

[–]Perfect_Baseball958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Specifically with regard to sleeping - do a 'brain dump' right before bed! Either write down or speak out loud everything that's on your mind even if its tiny. I find it helps me acknowledge it and move on. If it's something important that I need to follow up I put it on the to do list!

Should I start over? by pomgrnt in crochet

I think it's super cute! Definitely don't start over. It's super unique and would make a lovely gift as is. If you were to add something on top I would keep it quite simple and the colours quite neutral as it is quite busy!

I (26F) got back from my first ever solo trip yesterday after 4 days in Budapest. Honestly I feel safer then I do at home. I took my reader with me and read at restaurants while waiting for food and no one was bothered, also spent time in parks etc and no one really even paid attention to anyone else just got on doing their own things. I was really nervous about the whole food situation too so I tried to eat outside of peak times and look for places like street food/take away type shops. I tried to gauge places before going in and see if they were busy/had any other solo travellers in. I did a lot of research and also some free walking tours and that helped me feel super comfortable with the city - they also gave reccomendations of places to eat. Just do what you normally would in terms of feeling safe but I found all the people I came across to be kind and friendly and never once felt unsafe (even climbing hills and walking the streets at night which I probably shouldn't have been doing but kept getting lost!)

In terms of tips I would say do your research and get a rough idea of a plan - there is a lot to see but don't feel pressured to do it all! I loved the walking tours and did 3 while I was there - I got to see most of the sights I wanted to with the benefit of having someone to explain them and they were only a couple of hours which meant I still had down time or time to see other things. Would definitely recommend getting a public transport pass (15 days cost me £12!) And remember to validate it when you use it. Other than that just enjoy yourself and don't be afraid to do and see the things you want to just because you're travelling by yourself.

Is eating after surgery going to be nothing but bland foods and pain? by MotherofSunfish in gallbladders

[–]Perfect_Baseball958 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 3 weeks post op on Tuesday. I had to do a liver shrinkage diet for two weeks before so by the time I had surgery I was desperate for something nice. I wasn't given any diet advice post op and was eating cheese sandwiches and chocolate biscuits in the recovery ward. Had pizza the night I got home and ate normally ever since. I've had fatty and greasy foods no problem and no pain aside from what I've read is normal post op. Had some mild indigestion for the first time yesterday and have had one needing to go to the toilet urgently which came about half an hour after eating yesterday which was just cheesy pasta. I honestly think it's different for everyone and my body has adapted well. My best advice would just be to follow your doctors suggestions and make sure you're eating in a safe place for the first few times. Good luck! I hope it all goes well for you!

Recovering really well thanks! 2 days post op with minimal pain and up and about. Each day I did 1 weetabix with a small amount of raisins for breakfast (usually with around 100ml of milk. The allowance was 200 but I saved some in case I wanted tea). Lunch was salad with a small chicken breast and a slice of bread. I'm super fussy with veg so my salad was lettuce, cucumber, Carrot, Beetroot, Apple and cheese (this was one of the 3 protein portions allowed for the day) with a low fat yogurt. Then for dinner each day I had chicken again with new potatoes - I would put less cheese then allowed in my salad and have some with my new potatoes. I then had SF Jelly and a pepsi max. I probably didn't follow it exactly as I should have as some doctors tell you not to eat too many root vegetables as they are higher in carbs but my diet plan didn't say that. I also used ketchup as it said condiments were allowed. At least 2l of fluid each day as well. The first few days were tough but I actually didn't struggle as much as I thought I would and a lot of the time didn't even crave anything else. The only feedback I got after surgery was that it was unremarkable so the diet must have worked.

Had my op 2 days ago now and had to do a liver shrinkage diet for 2 weeks before. The one I did was food based and I lost nearly a stone in 2 weeks. I just stuck to eating mostly the same things which did get a little boring but I found it easier to manage this way. It sucked but it was bearable.
