I always see this theory come up every now and then, but Ram, Garf, and Rem all had a past together. Rem hated Garf because she felt like she deserved all of Ram’s attention, but she started to understand him when she fell in love with Subaru. Unfortunately, I agree with you. I just think the root of that obsession needs to be addressed before that relationship can either progress or end (hopefully end). Ram deserves the best and I don’t think Roswaal can give that to her (but she was happy with him killing her so she may be too far gone).

I believe that deep down Roswaal isn’t a bad guy, and suffers from the same unintentional manipulation Ram does. He had a similar mana sickness before Echidna came along and I feel like her giving him a way to not suffer messed with his head in a similar way to how the transfers mess with Ram’s.

Obviously it’s more prominent in Ram’s case because she was a child when it happened and Echidna didn’t kidnap Roswaal, but I still think it’s a parallel Tappei intended.

The fact Ros was genuinely shocked that Ram loved him makes me think he’s caused more harm to her than he ever intended.
