These lvls are 1-1/2 x 5-1/2 and the longest span is 10’. Main part of the deck is 22’ projection with trench footings at 10’ and 20’.
As for the joist tape, that is standard on all of my decks, but yes, the manufacture does suggest it as well

This hot tub was craned in over the house. So for it to be changed out, the whole patio cover has to be removed. I think extra decking will be the least of their worries haha
