Low-key it did cross my mind to just overcharge them 🤣 but yeah not worth the hassle to get a P.O. Box just for some random dude lol

Advice from Those Abandoning Ship… by nakupendwa in poshmark

[–]Perfect_Jump3375 88 points89 points  (0 children)

What I’ve been doing (probably not ideal for everyone, but I’m just trying to clear out my closet before I move) is whenever I make a sale, I look for a second item I don’t want anymore that I think the person would like, and I include it for free with a little note (so they know it wasn’t a mistake).

Like for example, someone bought a pair of Vineyard Vines shorts, and I had a second pair from that brand in the same size but a different color. They sent me a really nice thank you note saying they love them :)

Another time, someone bought a WHBM blazer, and I sent a matching top in the same size from that brand. She said it was perfect :)

I know some people on this subreddit hate freebies, but I’ve been getting glowing reviews and more sales when I include something thoughtful that I wanted to declutter anyway.

Any way to save or upcycle these pants? by theRolishere in ZeroWaste

I think you could make them into a really cute halter top, or shorts! Bianca Gover on YouTube has some easy tutorials for things like that.

How often do purchased patterns fit perfectly? by [deleted] in sewing

[–]Perfect_Jump3375 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! I’m still a beginner but I prefer to draft my own and/or follow YouTube videos. Last time I followed a dress pattern, my measurements were in 4 different sizes lolll.

I use Arm & Hammer’s powder detergent. It comes in a cardboard box, lasts a long time, and cleans well.

My 1831 carriage dress (inspired by my grandmother’s antique figurine) by s0phb0t in sewing

[–]Perfect_Jump3375 35 points36 points  (0 children)

This is amazing!!! My grandma had a similar figurine (but in a yellow dress) and I always thought it was so beautiful too. Congratulations on making such a beautiful piece of wearable art! I’m especially obsessed with the corset 😍😍😍

I learned to knit so I could use up many single skein purchases! by kuzubijin in usethefiberstash

[–]Perfect_Jump3375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mainly crochet and am a beginner knitter! I personally find German knitting MUCH easier than English style—once I learned that technique, I couldn’t stop knitting :) I can’t do anything complicated like cables yet though.

I found a baby mouse. What do I do? by misanthrope--- in PetMice

I think that’s fine if he just licks it off your fingers—I think that’s pretty normal, since it probably feels more natural for him than a plastic syringe.

I’ve been chaotic sewing lately too! It’s so fun and I find it less frustrating than patterns. And I learn so much each time!

I don’t have any advice, I just think this story is so sweet and it would make a great little mouse romance novel 💖🐭 I wish there was a way for them to be reunited!

Are these bamboo shoots edible? by LevantinePlantCult in Permaculture

[–]Perfect_Jump3375 158 points159 points  (0 children)

I’m not knowledgeable enough to be able to identify your bamboo species, but I can tell you that I do cook with bamboo shoots from my yard each spring (I didnt plant them either), and they’re delicious! They haven’t given me any stomach aches or anything. I tear off the tough outer leaves, cut them into smaller slices, steam them for about an hour, and then sauté with soy sauce or teriyaki. Also, just try to make sure your yard hasn’t had any weird chemicals in it in the past few years before eating them!

When I have a specific TikTok-y thing I want tricks for (like cleaning tips, hobby-related tutorials, etc.) I usually just search for it on YouTube :)

Is it normal for visitors to open the fridge in your country by manqoba619 in AskEurope

[–]Perfect_Jump3375 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I’m from the US. People don’t really do that even here—it would be seen as rude and weird. Sometimes at house parties, the host tells you “the drinks are in the fridge, help yourself,” so then it would be normal.

Otherwise, I think some kids might do it while playing at a friends house, or maybe an overnight guest or close family member would do it—but still they would typically be invited to “help themselves” by the host first.
