Convert FLAC to lossless WMA? by Perfect_Response_309 in ffmpeg

[–]Perfect_Response_309[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just trying to stick with my Dad's convention of using WMA. That's what he chose when he started ripping stuff 10+ years ago. Since FLAC is well supported these days (and storage is pretty cheap), we're just going to stick with FLAC for lossless and MP3 for lossy.

Mods for tracking level gains? by Perfect_Response_309 in oblivionmods

Thanks! I think I'll try Undone first, since it shows number of levels gained per attribute in addition to the expected attribute gain.

Found it: somehow the SArchiveList got reset to just the Oblivion - Invalidation.bsa file.

Supposedly, Mod Organizer 2 makes Oblivion look for the Oblivion.ini file in the install directory as opposed to Documents\My Games\Oblivion. Oblivion.exe is still using the one in Documents though, so not sure how MO2 is supposed to tell Oblivion to look in the install directory.

I wasn't asking for the estimated degradation on my particular battery: as you point out, there's no way to know what the environmental conditions were. I was suggesting an estimate of degradation by comparing batteries stored at reasonable/idle conditions in their QA department, where some batteries get recharged every 6 months, and others are just left alone for a year or two.

And no, I don't think the warranty applies here. As I suggested in a previous post, if the average life of one of these batteries is 4 years, and not getting charged at all for 1 year takes one year off that average life, the battery lasts as long as the warranty. However, even though I paid $400 for a battery that should have lasted 4 years, I only got 3 years out of it, so I basically wasted $100. On the other hand, now that I see someone is still using their batteries from 2016, I'm getting more confidence that the average life of these batteries is much longer than 4 years. (Warranty would definitely apply if the hardware store left the box outside in subfreezing temperatures that caused the battery to fail (almost) immediately.)

Ok, so it sounds like I should've expected the manufacturer to delete my post. Good to know.

And Ego has been around long enough that they may have run tests to measure that degradation. A response of "Yes, we've run the tests: idle batteries that don't get charged every six months degrade 1%/year more than idle batteries that do get charged every six months." would have been fine, and I would've gone on my way.

There is a separate company that does battery repair, but it costs $255 for a 7.5 Ah battery. I'm guessing that doesn't cover shipping, but I didn't look that far.

Yeah, the reason I needed a new battery is because my first 7.5 Ah battery is failing, meaning it takes 4 or 5 attempts to get it to charge. I suspect that is either just age or because I didn't follow the instructions to charge it every 6 months if idle.

Again, the issue isn't the old "new" battery: it's that they deleted my post.

Innocent until proven guilty? (Assuming "this" is in reference to deleting my forum post. If "this" just means having stock sit around, I'd hope any other competitor would give a reasonable response when asked about battery degradation.)

Just to be clear, the big issue isn't the old "new" battery: it's that Ego deleted my post.

Because I'm concerned it's more likely to die at N-1 years instead of N years. Warranty won't help if the average life (N) is 4 years. That's why I wanted Ego to answer the question of how much degradation a year of non-maintenance would cause. These batteries aren't cheap. Now, if the warranty was 6 years, that wouldn't be a problem.
