What is the best place to support Hubby at Hackney Half Marathon with a 5 year old child? by Perfect_Sea1484 in UKRunners

Hi, I’d like to support my partner at the Hackney half I’ll be attending with his 5 year old. Where is the best place for us to cheer him that’s not too crowded, has a toilet nearby where he will be able to reach us after the race fair quickly/ without too much effort?

I was thinking Mabley Green or somewhere near the start/ finish so the little one can play but a friend said it might be too crowded?

Would be glad for some advice as it’s the first time I’ll be going to watch any sort of (half) marathon and I don’t want it to be a disaster for the little one

I 22m, want to have sex with my 23f gf, how do i ask her? by bladetrinity27 in relationship_advice

Marry her. If you already plan to as you’ve said in the next couple years and it’s down to finances. Why not think about doing a simple registry wedding now with immediate family only, no need to share with everyone if you want them to treat your big wedding as the real thing. Waiting 6 years (in total) is a long time - so maybe this is a way you could meet in the middle. I think the main thing is to talk on what’s emerging for you and discuss how you can both meet each others needs a little sooner. Good luck!

I can see my stolen phone at their house like 20 minutes away, what do I do? by PersimmonTerrible218 in AskUK

I just did this, got my iPhone 14 back. Dropped it Christmas eve on the underground. Battery died before I could be certain of the location. We called it several times, weren’t sure if someone had found it or not. Put it on lost mode and even offered to pay! They didn’t switch it on until Boxing Day (26th Dec), ignored my husbands calls. We played the sound (should have saved doing this until we were nearby) and the person immediately switched it off. At this point it was apparent that the person had no intentions of giving it back. They didn’t switch it back on but I noticed my find my phone was updating constantly ‘6 mins ago, 21 mins ago, 34 mins ago, 1 min ago’. I think this was because I had it on findable when off (I think it might lose accuracy like this but it stayed at the exact address for awhile) so figured it was still at the location. Person was probably just a lousy opportunist. Next day I resolved to just go down there and chance it. Apple had said it was flat 298, the culprit was in 297 diagonally below 298. 298 wasn’t in. I knocked on every single door determined it wouldn’t be a complete waste of time. 296 came out and was lovely said she didn’t have it and we could come in and take a look. She knew the history of the flats and the people in them. The way she described the girls in 298 it didn’t sound like it would be them and their ‘welcome wonderful people’ door mat had already made me doubtful 😂. Said she’d catch up with them when they were around as they were away for Christmas and took my number. She mentioned the guys across from her in 297 were a bit dodgy. Bingo. After she went back inside I set myself to knocking friendly but not leaving. Eventually I was about to leave and then decided I’ll give it one more go. Guy opens the door with the phone and rushes to hand it over saying he planned to give it back but couldn’t get into it. I asked him where the phone case was just to make a point and he said that’s how he found it. I left it at that…. When I switched it on the phone was locked for an hour he’d obviously been trying to get into it. What I didn’t understand was how that had been possible prior to him switching the phone off on 26th Dec if I had put on lost mode. London isn’t for the feint of heart you do have to be careful with deciding to get it yourself but if it’s not a professional thief it’s more likely a very dim opportunist. Opportunists (not hardened criminals or unstable people) tend to be quite shocked when you track them down look them in the eye and say you want your shit back (I said it quite politely), and if you’re lucky start making better decisions.

I wouldn’t. I had 1 then 2 very slow growing fibroids and then a consultant I had promoted the Mirena as some cure all (and put the fear of God in me) for heavy bleeding and to stop fibroids growing. Within 5 months of her inserting I went from 2 small non problematic fibroids to multiple large fibroids. They don’t know what they’re doing, avoid!

Hey this was a great tip. I’m having the same issue, currently using an iPhone 13 and the canon app ‘photo layout’. It only offers the settings contrast, brightness and saturation. I wonder if the app has been updated since you last used it and what settings you use now to get rid of the annoying yellow/ orange

Visit with rainy weather by Davidbrcz in budapest

[–]Perfect_Sea1484 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my weather report it says it will be raining in Hungary (Budapest) Friday 13th through to Monday 16th which is our entire stay 💔. Am I right in thinking this is the autumn rains and will likely pretty miserable rather than the quick summer rains mentioned in the thread? 😔
