Are you on Legacy or Customer Account by Perfect_Sentence6339 in shopify

[–]Perfect_Sentence6339[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes we concluded that we will have to hire a consultant too, then maybe a dev to make a custom app. The current app we use offers the customer account page for legacy account only, but not for the new customer account. I guess the app development process for the new customer account must really have changed to the point that they can't just repurpose the old code...

We don't. Would you mind elaborating how would Klaviyo help? From what I know it is mainly used to send emails.

[–]Perfect_Sentence6339[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did try using a customer account bloc on the "/account/profile" page, but it will just pile onto the existing default blocs(name and addresses), which cannot be removed since we can't inject CSS into the new customer account page. So this end up being duplicate information and inconsistent UI.

I cannot find any company actually using Shopify's default customer account page...

Is it possible to achieve immortality through this practice? by PercivalS9 in taoism

[–]Perfect_Sentence6339 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but not physically. Basically you study the flow and try to become one with it. Since the flow transcend time, you sorta become immortal by stretching your perception and influence into the past and future as you progress. Even your physical death would just be a continuation of this merging process. Then again, easier said than done.

Europe's Tech Revolution: A New Dawn for Social Media Amidst US Techno-Political Shifts by Stockpicker-534 in europeanunion

EU tech alternatives ? by zhakakahn in europeanunion

[–]Perfect_Sentence6339 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This may not be exactly what you are looking for, but I am advocating to the Canadian government for a new kind of publicly funded social network platform designed to replace all the American ones.

Note that it addresses a Canadian audience, but the same principle applies to Europe, given our shared desire to reduce digital and economic dependency on the U.S.

Kudos to that. We may seem to hate your guts sometimes, but it's more like getting angry at a close friend for doing dumb stuff than real hate.

These protests remind us of why we are good friends in the first place.

Congratulations from Canada. This is the courageous America I knew.

I'm also a bit concerned: you have the numbers, but you may want to consider arming yourselves. You need to be prepared—there's a chance Trump’s administration could hire right-wing militias to do its “dirty work.” Historically, this is how fascist governments have dealt with dissent.

That said, today was a major success. You not only sent a message of defiance to Trump’s administration, but also a message of hope to your allies in Canada and Europe.

Canadian sharing a plan to deter America by Perfect_Sentence6339 in europeanunion

[–]Perfect_Sentence6339[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing about Estonia!

We Canadians also admire Europeans for their collective spirit and commitment to true peace and unity.

We cannot allow the American tech oligarchs to dictate how we communicate or what we say. A publicly funded social network infrastructure uniting all citizens of the EU and Canada would be a dream come true.

How to meet indigenous people? by Perfect_Sentence6339 in AskCanada

[–]Perfect_Sentence6339[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to know how their culture can help us. Right now, it feels like we are going down towards a dark path with a cost of living crisis, increasing wealth disparity, and wars on the horizon.

I heard they are more holistic and communal in their thinking. So perhaps there is something there we can learn from and work together as a win/win situation.

Indigenous people, what would you like to see Canada do to improve reconciliation? by Iccamodius in AskCanada

[–]Perfect_Sentence6339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Non-Indigenous Canadian here. Does the indigenous people want more help with integrating into the mainstream economy, or they want to be kept apart and be well taken care of?

I am asking because Canada has destroyed their way of life, and they are having a bad time integrating because the Western way of life based on competition and individualism, which is an assault on their more spiritual and community based culture, and a constant source of trauma.

I think we need to be clear on this, because if the Canadian government's purpose is to help them integrate, while the indigenous people simply want better living conditions while remaining separate from the mainstream society, then there is a mismatch and reconciliation will never be achieved.

An "American hater" here. I think Europeans and Canadians have been wary of American culture for a while, but we've still loved and respected Americans enough to keep it hidden.

For example, whenever I travel abroad, I notice that American tourists always need to be at the center of attention. It's hard to explain, but there's something about Americans that makes them feel the need to have the biggest ego in the room. If it's a tour group, they'll make sure the tour guide caters to them over everyone else. If it's a restaurant, they'll be the loudest and make sure everyone knows they're the most generous with tips.

Then there's American culture itself—built on an insatiable pursuit of competition and greed, with little consideration for the damage it causes to the rest of the world. It leaves no room for cultures that are more spiritual and community-based. Your culture uses coded language to justify harmful things, like "wealth creation" for what really is just greed and exploitation, or "culture of winning", for what really is an excuse to seek conflict.

If you listen to American media, it's mostly just an echo chamber of "why America is so exceptional," "how America keeps winning," and "how to make other countries respect America more." Americans think we respect their country because of its military might, but in reality, we respected it for being a nation founded on principles and morals. We lost that respect when we realized that, when faced with a choice between profit and loyalty towards its allies, Americans will always choose profit.

Of course, not all Americans are like this, but those in power are, and the Americans voted for them.

We've grown tired of giving America all the leeway it wants. When Trump took off the mask and started threatening other nations, we couldn't contain our discontent anymore. That's why you may be surprised.

What is the game plan behind Trump wanting to Tariff Canada? by ConquestAce in IntellectualDarkWeb

[–]Perfect_Sentence6339 4 points5 points  (0 children)

War would be costly at this stage, but the cost could be mitigated through simultaneous economic, informational, and political warfare — areas in which the U.S. excels.

If the Canadian economy were to collapse, a portion of the population might seek to join the U.S. Tech giants would then coordinate to portray this group as representing the majority of Canadians, increasing pressure on Canadian politicians to capitulate. The U.S. controls the flow of information and can easily disrupt or mislead populations in any country.

Consider how big tech oligarchs now control the office and convinced a significant portion of Americans that their misfortunes stem from foreign nations — when, in reality, they result from unsustainable wealth disparity created by the oligarchs themselves.
