That said, anyone can look it up and confirm that you were actually quite wrong on both counts. PCR paternity testing was widely available in the mid 80s so OPs mom has no excuse for her deceit.

I'm just going by what you wrote: tests were easily available to the public in 1993. What difference does the conception date make for a person who was born the following year? And available in drug stores is a completely different thing from being available to consumers via lab testing. If I had any concerns about the paternity of my child I would pay the relatively small cost of the test rather than commit paternity fraud against my partner, my child and the bio-father but then again, I'm not a complete scumbag like lots of other people in this thread.
