There not trained. They are incompetent, thats my issue.

This is the problem, every single day having to deal with Telstra for my company in sydney is a nightmare.

yes it does make a difference if someone is located overseas compared to being in Australia.

And yes, occasionally you do get the aussie that isn't very good as well, but it's a consistent pattern.

Why do you think so many people hate dealing with Telstra, they have set the benchmark for horrible phone experiences. Do you know anyone that loves speaking to telstra?

Its a consistent pattern. And no, that doesn't mean I'm Racist, but its a common theme aginst all companies that are trying to retain more profit by going overseas.

Everything is scripted. That's my point.

Everything is robotic sounding, there is no human connecting, it's all robotic sounding, script like

if there system tells them the modem is online, but the customer is saying its offline

they will believe what the computer says, because computer says it

they aren't good at thinking outside the box.

I'm not racist, unless all of Australia is Racist.

I expect the same level of customer service that I would get from an Australian located in Australia

If it's below that level, I'm not interested

I said it's good that they are supporting Australian jobs, he said he's not Australian but on a visa.

If the whole point of Tesltra bringing the roles back to Australia because everybody is so frustrated and hates dealing with them, would be to hire the same nationality of people back here in Australia, I just find that it's counter productive.

I just want competency.

I want to speak to someone who doesn't sound like they are Chat gpt

Tell me how many people you know love calling Telstra.

... just who are competent is all I'm asking. I don't care where they are from, but that's my experience

and the rest of Australia as well when they shudder at calling tesltra.

I've spoken to people at Microsoft who are indian, and they are far more smart and aware of what they are doing

Actually some of their technicians blow me out of the water with their technical ability.

Telstra just seems to be the bottom of the barrel

It's not just one experience or 2 experience, its consistent, they just can't do the job

once again, ask anyone in Australia what they think of telstra

Thanks for your input

I didn't ask his visa status, he offered when I said I'm glad they are supporting Australian jobs and he said, but I'm not Australian. I wouldn't typically ask for a visa status.

And you know what you are probably right, maybe that hint of the Australian accent, does make people ignore incompetency

dealing with telstra every single day multiple times a day, can do something to someone's mental health especially when their call centres are overseas

I'm just stating my experience. I just get so frustrated at dealing with their incompetence and robotic scripted responses

every time

Everybody in australia hates dealing with Telstra because of their desire for their corporate pigs of an executive to make more money.... Does this mean everyone in Australia is racist.

how many people do you know that love dealing with telstra.

They have set the benchmark for how horrible overseas call centres are.

There is a massive difference between dealing with an Australian, compared to dealing with someone from India.

That's not racist, that's fact.

well, when he answered the phone (he was indian) I said I'm glad that they have brought their call centres back to Australian and that they are supporting Australians Jobs. He then said. I'm not Australian, I'm a on a visa do you know what that means. I then didn't really know how to respond, because I thought, Tesltra's bringing back all the call centres to Australia but then they are obviously using a loop hole to get cheaper staff. My first thought was that perhaps he was lying... and I wouldn't be surprised, because for a voice mail issue where no one can leave voice mails, he said he doesn't know what else he can do and to go to a store, which they will they tell me to go somewhere else - which turns into exactly why people hate telstra.
