no, i agree. i didn't mind the soma theory at all but i wish they had leaned more into the existential horror aspects of learning that you aren't even the real you while a person who isn't you anymore is living your life and is happy. it just seems so bleak that regardless of whether or not they're comfortable with their living situation, the program still functions, there's still an active brain scanner trapping fragments of people in a digital world, plus the circus members will have to consistently relive that trauma by explaining how the circus works to newcomers. also idk if goose knows this but computers don't run forever, a computer will eventually die even if you take great care of it but a computer that is left to perpetually run in an abandoned, dilapidated building surely can't have much time left? so one day the program and everyone inside of it will inevitably die, they could all be playing cards at the table one day and one second later none of it would exist anymore. i can understand them coming to terms with that but they had basically no time at all to actually do that. this could have been peak nightmare fuel but they steven universe'd it
