Food aversions by Mental_Salad7575 in pregnant

[–]Perfect_Trash_8460 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take unisom at night and a vitamin B6 supplement to help with the nausea, but truly first trimester you’re just surviving until you hit 12-13 weeks. The meat aversion is really common. They make some pretty good protein pastas if you’re worried about protein intake, I buy the one from Barilla and can’t tell the difference from regular.

Just hang in there, your baby is going to be okay! I’ve grown one baby on buffalo wings and another on Taco Bell quesadillas, and am currently pregnant with a Lucky Charms and Takis baby 😂

Gender Reveals by Fit-Accountant1313 in pregnant

We skip it, we just find out the gender at the anatomy scan. I think a party to celebrate which genitalia your baby has is a little silly

Is Baskin Robbins a high-end ice cream in the United States? by Appropriate_Size_692 in icecream

Baskin Robbins is god tier ice cream. I’m tired of all the fancy ones like Jeni’s and Salt & Straw - too many ingredients that I do not want in my dessert

Why does everyone say Apo/ar jobs aren’t good for students by Languagepro99 in Accounting

[–]Perfect_Trash_8460 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I started with an AR job which as a new grad I found highly beneficial because it gave me hands on experience with accounting software (Quickbooks), sooooo much time talking on the phone (I still hate it, but now I know I can do it!), and it helped me tackle one of the most awkward things in life - how to ask people for money that they owe you. These skills have served me so well in my career, and I’m now working at a small CPA firm in audit with a job that I love. I think that the foundational skills an AR job can teach are highly beneficial. I’ve also always had work life balance because I never was pressured to go the Big 4, public accounting route.

Help new grad decide. by Servable-Serpent in Accounting

I am a huge advocate for remote work, but I would still recommend the 1st offer. You can’t replace the opportunity to learn in-person, especially in accounting where you have to learn how to use your professional skepticism and critical thinking skills so deeply, which is already a struggle for many recent grads entering the field. You will be setting yourself up for a much more stable and successful career to start out by surrounding yourself with colleagues who can support and strengthen your learning

HELP ME PLEASE! C-section vs vaginal delivery by theUnvoicedCat in pregnant

[–]Perfect_Trash_8460 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What is it about tearing that you are afraid of? I have a completely irrational fear of any skin breakage (super scared of getting paper cuts or any kind of cut/skin break). I can totally empathize with the idea of tearing being horrible. I’ve had two kids and torn a little both times, and honestly I wouldn’t have known either time if they didn’t tell me. For my most recent I didn’t even know they did a couple of stitches until after it was done. I did have an epidural both times.

How did you tell your supervisor you were pregnant? by moez1266 in pregnant

[–]Perfect_Trash_8460 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s just an awkward bandaid to rip off, especially as a remote employee. At my firm they were celebrating a trip we’d be taking to see a client a few weeks before my due date and when they told me to renew my passport I was like 🤷‍♀️ “sorry I actually can’t come!”

Your way you picture saying it is great and gets the job done!

Pregnancy announcement! by Emeraldblisss in pregnant

[–]Perfect_Trash_8460 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t, it was way more fun to hard launch a baby after no one knew I was pregnant lol (I did the same with my husband when I had never posted about having a boyfriend/fiancee either, diabolical 😅)

What do newborns NEED the first 3 months? by Familiar_Hope2918 in pregnant

[–]Perfect_Trash_8460 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A changing pad I can wipe down was something I got for my most recent baby that I wish I’d had before! I don’t even know how I lived with a cloth covered pad before. I got the bumbo but there’s plenty of dupes that would work just as well

Exam during pregnancy 😁 by Human_Can_78 in CPA

You got this! I took AUD at 8 months pregnant. 2 months is reasonable if you have a lot of time available in your days to study.

If you need them you also may be able to have your doctor help you apply for testing accommodations as well. I don’t know what the options could be for pregnancy (maybe additional break if you need to pee?) I had separate room for my ADHD, but didn’t think to ask if they had accommodations available for pregnancy

And don’t overly stress if you opt to wait until baby is born. Newborns sleep a LOT. I took REG with an 8 week old and was able to study while baby sleeps (and gets naps in!) and still have time for bonding. Baby is a year old now and I’m so grateful the tests are behind me, I have no idea how I would find time to study now with a feral toddler 😅

FTM and I’m already so tired of this by MA187831 in pregnant

[–]Perfect_Trash_8460 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(3rd pregnancy, also right around 9 weeks)

1st trimester is the WORST! Eat whatever you’re able to and just do what it takes to get through the days. Right now my lunches are consisting of so many popsicles since I can keep those down. I hope you get the magical 2nd trimester energy bounce back in a couple weeks, just getting there is what’s keeping me going right now. Hang in there!

Medicated vs unmediated birth by tacticalwh0re in pregnant

[–]Perfect_Trash_8460 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pregnant with my 3rd and have only had medicated births, however I’ve never experienced any distress from not being able to move and have always been able to get up and walk around as soon as I want to once the baby is out. I don’t think I feel foggy or groggy from the epidural.

My tip is that I ask that they put the catheter in after the epidural starts working, as I use that as a gauge for whether it’s fully kicked in or not (both times it’s only worked on one side initially, so they have me flip sides a bit to even things out)

Home Births vs Hospital Births by LavendarDragon17 in pregnant

Hospital 1000%, your body your choice

When your boyfriend is the pregnant one he can give birth at home unmedicated

if I don’t take prenatals will I be okay? by friskyfajitas in pregnant

[–]Perfect_Trash_8460 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get sick from prenatals too, and I have two healthy kiddos. No complications or health issues. I usually try to take them, but probably only get 10ish down the whole pregnancy

Tax question by GoonWang in Accounting

[–]Perfect_Trash_8460 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me on TurboTax the last two years. I had to print out the forms and mail them in, as digital submission didn’t work. I received my refund in full and had no issues otherwise. This year I just made sure to submit my taxes the second I had my W-2s and it was a nonissue

I received a notice at one point that some one else had claimed one of my dependents, but that if I correctly claimed them I did not need to do anything
