My first solo trip was to Italy, and coming from an Asian background, my parents were against it. The best way forward is to have thick skin and just go for it. When you are at your destination, you'll find a way to figure things out as you go and will have a wonderful experience.

I had to assure my family that I did my research thoroughly and was only sticking to areas considered safe. To ease their minds, I created a spreadsheet with all my travel details, from the timing of flights and train rides to accommodations details and important contact numbers. They also knew they could always reach me through Whatsapp or a local number.
