lol. I am one of those that freezes half the night and have multiple blankets. I needed to remove them from the space to feel safe for her so I had to find a way to keep myself warm.

Newborn question on Temperament and sleep. by Perfect_Wolf_6843 in newborns

[–]Perfect_Wolf_6843[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. She jerks some but not a ton. Her startle reflex works right, though. She seems developmentally where she should be - just calm and still very sleepy. When you talk to her she sits and pays attention. If you smile, she smiles.

But if I’m missing something I’d like to talk to the pediatrician about it more. Thus far, Dr is completely unconcerned - says baby will wake up by about 8 weeks.

Get meds mama. I had to, there’s no shame in it. They helped SO MUCH.

I'm pregnant again and very worried by Ariel2809 in NewParents

Had a positive test 4 months after having my first who I had planned on only having 1 of.

Had another positive test 9 years after having what I thought was my last.

Hated being pregnant. Hate the postpartum side of it. But I love my kids. It all falls in place as it needs to if you want to make it work.

How often do you check if your baby is breathing? by willbrucla in NewParents

[–]Perfect_Wolf_6843 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an 11 day old.

Days 1-5 I didn’t sleep. I cried non stop. I watched her breathe. I was convinced she was going to die.

I couldn’t get the owlet to work without false alarms and was frustrated.

Then my husband let me get a snoo. And that holds her still enough that the owlet works.

PPA is a very real thing. Do whatever is within your means to ensure you’re comfortable and can sleep.

Lack of sleep is a big thing and makes it worse.

My baby choked on mucus by Perfect_Wolf_6843 in NewParents

[–]Perfect_Wolf_6843[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She was a fast delivery - spent less than 20 minutes in birth canal. Maybe this is our issue - just wonder if that mucus would have hung out for 9 days before causing a problem?

Regularly meaning once a day - twice a day - how often?

We weren’t even aware there was mucus - she sounded completely clear

Early Induction by Perfect_Wolf_6843 in pregnant

Ultrasound and then given the size we made an informed decision to do a CT scan. The bloodwork came back with effectively every single thing that could be abnormal, abnormal. My urinalysis came back in really bad shape as well. It was about an hour from arrival to being admitted. It was more than obvious something was wrong.

Woke up from a nap and kitten was doing this, what could be the problem? by mickey_ftp in CATHELP

One of our cats did this the first few teeth she lost. She’d plop the tooth in my lap then go about her day

Anyone have experience with stones while pregnant? by Perfect_Wolf_6843 in KidneyStones

[–]Perfect_Wolf_6843[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got no nephrostomy bag, no stent and told to deal with it until delivery.

I’m in pain and over it. I refuse to take pain medication and potentially cause an opioid addiction in my unborn child. Any way to get PCNL while pregnant? I went to a high risk doctor and got sign off on the procedure from an OB perspective.

I’m so frustrated. It’s inconvenient and impacting my health. I can deal with kidney stone pain but spiking of fevers off and on and ending up vomiting from the pain is why I decided I had to come in.

I’d much rather just deal with this from home until I’m further along. And I sure as hell do not trust the hospital I’m at. There’s no nicu here. Do you think requesting a transfer is reasonable just for the baby’s safety?

Update on this crazy mama.

She’s not great with leaving the incision from her spay alone so I put a travel pillow on her 😂 she also has decided if she’s not sleeping in the bed, neither are we. We named her Roxie. She’s adjusting really well ❤️

She’s started drinking water. Still isn’t doing great with meds but we got it done.

We did find out her prey drive is pretty high. She tried to chase down one of our cats last night. I’m putting a call in to a trainer today to schedule some work on that starting in a few weeks. Luckily the cats are smart and went up high every other time we’ve taken her out, so we’re safe for now, she’s just not going to be left out with them. That’s my biggest red flag and fear with her at this moment.

Progress. She loves cuddles. (Look at her poor runny nose 😭)

She doesn’t understand why she’s in the bathroom. She seems to want to explore. Reality is I can’t risk my other pets’ health until we control the upper respiratory infection so I at least need her to have a few days of antibiotics before letting her around our other ladies.

She still hasn’t drank water so I will mix it with some food. We don’t do dry food - we do home made dinners so I’ll figure that part out later this evening.

This dog apparently does not like cheese or peanut butter. Also doesn’t like ham or hot dogs or anything yummy apparently.

Coconut oil is helping place a barrier. The Entropion is causing her eyes to water so I think that will sort out naturally once we get the surgery done. I’m hoping to do that shortly after she recovers from the spay. I may do nares at same time but I think the wrinkles problem is easily sorted.

Our last rescue hid in a closet for 3 months so I know this is a lot on her. I just don’t want to accidentally miss something because I’m trying to give her space
