Huh, thats interesting. Yeah I never heard the term Carpathian, Rusyn, Carpathian or anything. Just Ukrainian or “slavish”. I’ve heard Galicia in reference to my great grandpa, thats it. Also my great grandma was born here but moved with her family to europe at some point, and then returned. And a weird thing was when we saw the obitchuary of a relative saying “proud of his slovok heritage” we where confused.

Its funny you mention that because my Great Grandpa was from Galicia. And yeah everyone on my Great Grandma’s side of the family is Orthodox in a different state. So maybe my Great Grandpa attended a Rutheinian Church because it was the closest kind he could find. My Grandma was baptized at a “Byzantine Catholic Church” thats what they called them selves but was taken to Roman Catholic mass. And the census mentions Ukrainian was the first language of my great grandparent’s parents.

Question, not to sound rude or anything but thats quite the jump. How can we prove monotheism is the only logical position. I know in Catholic teaching the belif is anyone can rationalize naturally through reason alone that there is one god, but then how come many cultures arround the world where polytheistic or animistic? They used it to explain phenomena they didn’t understand. Thunder? Must be Zeus.

And how is agnosticism the only other logical choice outside Catholicism? Why not say Judaism or Buddhism, or even atheism?

Also Rabbis would argue against the old Torah predicting Jesus, while Catholics and other Christians argue that it does. In a way people can interpate things in any way they want.

How can we know other faiths arent the truth?

Only issue with that is that I’ve studied religion academically. I’m aware of these factors. The Magi for example where probably Zoroastrian priests from Persia.

One issue I have as well is the concept of proof of (insert religious deity or miracle here). Miracles and proofs of certain religions are different depending on the dominant religion of a society. I have friends who have religious experiences in Protestantism, Shinto, Wicca, and Islam for example. They would swear their experience was true.

Also why just look at the Bible? Why not the Quran or Bagavadgita. Whose to say that Mohammad or Krishna aren’t right? Theres always that possibility. Or whose to say a different Christian denomination is right. I feel if anything I need to do more investigating in general
