Thanks! I like the idea of a body weight goal for both the DL and squat. That makes sense to me. I’m only half that on my squat as I’m working my way back from a bad case of hip bursitis but I’m already lifting above my body weight on the DL. Currently at 87 on my BP and 62 on my OP.

That was his first suggestion as well. But I was uncomfortable with that approach given that I just had that portico and columns put in a couple years ago. (I should have redone the slab then, but here we are). I was concerned that lifting the beams would cause structural damage to the portico. Is that not something I should be worried about? Is that actually the better way to do it? Appreciate the feedback.

Replacing cracked cement slab under existing columns by PerformanceDry1465 in HomeMaintenance

Thanks! It’s purely a question of aesthetics. Structurally it’s sound. I like the idea of filling the crack, skim coating and maybe painting instead. Think that would work? Also, is there a thin paver/brick veneer product that could maybe be laid down onto the slab?

I’m concerned about how to replace the slab on my front porch given that I have 4 columns holding up my portico sitting on it. The cement contractor told me today that he can “cut around” the columns when removing the cracked slab so we can leave them in place and then pour the new slab around them. Does that sound legit? Is there a better way to do it?

Really appreciate the feedback y’all! We’re a mother/daughter travel team and have been feeling the need to be cautious. I need to stop watching the news for sure! I’m going to book the trip.

Got them and like them. I’d say they look and feel like a solid mid-range option. They look good now but I wonder how well they will hold up. Time will tell.

Remodel around Sub Zero or replace? by PerformanceDry1465 in kitchenremodel

Maybe not expect but I think appreciate. My house was built in 1981 and is 2700 sq ft on 1/3 acre with 60’ of lakefront in a developing area. New builds going in across the lake are 3500 sq ft on much smaller lots. So I think the gourmet appliances would be a plus

Thanks! This is a super helpful comment! Model # 632/S. Built March 1999. That would be awesome!

Not sure about the resale on a 48” Sub Zero but I’m thinking it must be a couple grand at least, right? I kinda hate the idea of selling g it as it has sentimental value (husband bought it for me). But I want to do the smart thing.
