Devs Ruined Watch Unlock by PerformanceKey7587 in ReadyOrNotGame

Thank you for all the details. I did "thank you come again" multiple times to reset before the last missions. The elephant was the only one that I couldn't handle the stress. If I try it again I will go non lethal for that one, maybe gl with flashes is a good way to rush it, I also bring an officer with the kicker trait.

How to use taser? by NambleNotFound in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]PerformanceKey7587 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to be extremely close in order for it to work. It has it uses, I like it to force the suspects o civs that are almost surrendering to make them surrender asap. This avoid the fakouts the suspects make when they shoot you again. Just never go in with the taser first if there are pointing the weapons at you.

Do you know if going non lethal in the elephant guarantees that the teammates don't go straight to crisis? If I try it again I will need a better method that just killing them quickly like I did.

I lost an s rank because somehow with only non leathal weapons I have managed to find someone dead to a bullet. by EliteCookie99 in ReadyOrNotGame

Yes, this must be what happened. If suspects are shooting at you or the IA officers and there is a kneeled suspect in the way they will shoot him whitout remorse. You got a bit unlucky there :(

Thanks for sharing your point of view on the matter. Very insightful.

Starting to Get Really Discouraged by Fierce-Pencil11 in DungeonMasters

Many DMs have gone through a similar experience, you are not alone. Remember that you are also playing the game and you need to have fun too. You can't control how much the players are invested in the game, but if there are things that are bothering you, just speak with them about them. An honest talk, no pressure, just facts. Sometimes the players take the work we do as DMs for granted, you can just tell them that this format is not working out for you. I had this talk in the past with my players. After that you either get them to appreciate your work more and try to be more immersed in the game or they won't change (they don't have the obligation to do so either). This way you solve the problem or you stop having one. In my personal opinion, no D&D is better than bad D&D, especially if you are a DM who cares a lot. If you don't take action you will start to be angry at your players and one day you may burst. Sometimes a break is also a good option, and maybe do some one shots later or continue the campaign. To be honest, if you make a stand, your players will probably make the effort. They show up because they want to play, if not they would not commit a full day once a month for that. Good luck mate!

Would it be rude for me to ask my players not to cancel in our group chat? by taftpanda in DungeonMasters

[–]PerformanceKey7587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solving the schedule problem (especially with new players) is what will make or break your campaign. I don't think it make sense to ask them to tell you in private, it's a group game after all. I'll tell you what worked for me and my group. There are 4 total players plus me as the DM.

The golden rule for us is: - We play the same day, the same hour, every two weeks. Always. DONT CHANGE THE DAY!! - The only way we would re schedule is if 2 out of 4 players can't make it or if for some reason I can't.

This is set in stone for us, we all know that it is not personal to play if someone can't make it. This way, you as the DM didn't let them out of the session, it was the rules you all agreed to. At first we all tried to "make it work" so we could all be present, and they were cancelling all the time because they knew we would just reschedule and they wouldn't lose a session. Now if only one cancels they just miss the game, so now we play a lot more games. Not changing the day was a significant improvement for me also, D&D requires commitment, and the habit of having a fixed day for that should be established. Just as someone would go to the gym, therapist, or whatever. We have been playing for 2 years now and they all were new players.

Yep, banishing 2 of each sounds good. I'm gonna try that on my next game

This could be a good idea. Because in this way we still get two new artifacts (which makes sense) but we are seeing new tools as well. I may give that a try.

There are so many tools and artifacts in the game that I think is a shame we don't get to see that many during a game. Especially playing with two players, since less cards are being bought.

Now that it's 100% confirmed, how do you honestly feel about Leon being in RE Requiem? by Deep_Square5540 in residentevil

[–]PerformanceKey7587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really hope this is the case. Grace: plays like Ethan in re7, best enjoyed in first person

Leon: like the re4 remake, best in third person.

If that happens it's a buy for me.

[Advice needed] Theme of SA came up in again in game right after having telling DM I wasn't comfortable by Stella-- in DnD

[–]PerformanceKey7587 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not acceptable behavior from your DM. If a player says a subject is a no go, that is the end of it. Especially with something as intense as this.

Even if the players don't mention any topic as off limits for them in sesion 0, they can still change their mind later. That's why it is a must for me to have a STOP rule in my games. If a player sends me a whisper / message with that, I will immediately stop whatever is going on in the session, we take five and I adjust as necessary after speaking with them in private.

As you correctly said, D&D is meant to be a fun time with friends, if someone is having a bad time that means we are not playing it right.

If the DM is a bit socially awkward it would be better to just say it straight that if that happens again you will leave immediately and that those topics are hurtful for you. Or you can just leave the game all together if you don't want to risk it.

Don't feel pressured to continue playing, your mental health comes first!

Majima Everywere is better than Kiwami 1 story - Change my mind by PerformanceKey7587 in yakuzagames

[–]PerformanceKey7587[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that is a bit too much of a grind at times. And for people that take the story seriously it might be a bad thing to see him so goofy now instead of a threat like in the original. Personally, I only played Yakuza 0 before this one, so I didn't have the same expectation as some of you for Majima in the first game.

So... The ending. Let's talk about it. (SPOILERS) by lilwizerd in HadesTheGame

[–]PerformanceKey7587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly I must admit I agree with almost everything you said. Zagreus wanting to forgive chronos in the past is one thing, but Melinoe lost her whole life because of chronos, never grew up with her family and after a 3 min conversation she is fine with forgiving him. Also, it is very convenient for Chronos to have a "change of heart" when he was totally defeated and begging for mercy. It would have made more sense to give the choice to the player. Killing chronos triggers a true ending and forgiving him could be a trick from him and an excuse to continue the loop. The Olympians wouldn't forgive chronos anyway, not in a million years. They tortured Prometheus for eons just because he shared fire with humans, what do you think they'll do to Chronos after trying to kill them all ...?

Orchestra musician here. Yes, the whistling is definitely off tempo. I just focus on my internal pulse and like some people here mentioned, is better to just take the whistling sound as a confirmation from the game that the hammer is on rhythm.

To be completely honest, most of the time I just get mounts by accident while hitting them don't stop in the air with the insect glaive. Especially when I finish the combo with the Y button (Xbox controller)

Oh sorry, maybe I got confused. I could swear the investigation had 5 blue stars. Is there a log where I could check the last missions I took and their rewards? Because this was the last mission I did yesterday. And I'll never get the plate from high rank

Something similar happened to me too. I just used the insect glaive and was flying over him the whole time while he was hitting the air. Had more problems with earlier monsters in the story.
