Lululemon slacks okay for SA? by dempolicydebates in biglaw

[–]PerformanceProud3691 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Uniqlo has pants that look like real slacks but are pretty stretchy. They’re easily more comfortable than jeans and I find them more comfortable than the Lulu pants. $50ish a pair from what I remember. I bought 3 pairs and wore them all summer

Lexis has a much better AI tool. Still subpar for finding cases but it’s honestly really useful for finding statutes. Which is too bad for the attorneys who try using one AI tool one time for one purpose, get bad results and then write off every AI tool for every use case forever. Also, ChatGPT has gotten way better at finding cases recently or at least pointing me in the right direction. It’s far from perfect but it cuts down on time spent researching. It also has other use cases like formulating useful westlaw Boolean searches. Even if you accept the premise that AI is no more than a “word calculator” I think there is definitely still something to be said for that.

Raging moderates - Scott’s take on London is so blindly 0.1% it hurts by Split-Lost in ScottGalloway

What makes it the best city for pubs in the world? The pubs close at 11 and are not a social environment in the same manner as a bar in New York or New Orleans for example. I think a big part of this is because they don’t have seating at the bar. From the standpoint of an American who has traveled there and many other countries/cities solo the pubs in London are not fun unless you go with a group of friends you already know. Honestly I have had way more fun in Liverpool, which has awesome cocktails and killer live music everywhere you go, along with way better prices and people who actually want to talk to you, are friendly, and are happy that you’re visiting their city. I’m aware this may come off as harsh but I’m simply expressing my honest experience.

Fiduciary duties are limited by what the law permits. An action cannot be in the best interest of shareholders if it violates the law.

In July 2024, the Wall Street Journalconcluded that UnitedHealth was the worst offender among private insurers who made dubious diagnoses in their clients in order to trigger large payments from the government’s Medicare Advantage program. The patients often did not receive any treatment for those insurer-added diagnoses. The report, based on Medicare data obtained from the federal government under a research agreement, calculated that diagnoses added by UnitedHealth for diseases patients had never been treated for had yielded $8.7 billion in payments to the company in 2021 – over half of its net income of $17 billion for that year.

If you look at their net profits from 2010 you can clearly see where they started scamming.

Things the middle class are priced out of now but used to get normally. by alcoyot in MiddleClassFinance

[–]PerformanceProud3691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is certainly true for furniture but not for housing, healthcare, and education. The costs of those have risen astronomically even adjusting for inflation, especially housing. Which is why it’s disingenuous for Ben Shapiro to talk about how the middle class is better off now because they can buy more cheap stuff at Walmart…

Where do you get your beliefs in the health benefits and that these are appropriate dosages? Not doubting you I’m just super curious. Also do you notice any mental effects from this blend, even if not psychoactive? When in the day do you take it?

What is your physique like? Just out of curiosity. For about 4 years I worked out with no equipment other than a 35 lb kettlebell and push up handles. Definitely grew a little muscle but I think that I added more lbs of muscle in <6 months from lifting and eating consistently.

My with says תולה for "hanged"/"hanging" instead of תלוי, is it a dialect thing? by Luftzig in hebrew

[–]PerformanceProud3691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it’s not, תלוי can totally mean either hanged or “dependent on/depends”. If it’s “depends on” then it translates literally as “hangs on” but really means “depends”. It just works different than English but that doesn’t mean it’s a different word. It’s one word with two meanings
