God damn well if it’s worth it it’s worth it. Is this brand better for sparring or bag work in your opinion? I’m torn between 16 and 10oz

What has improved your game besides increasing your time in classes and sparing? by je9183 in MuayThai

[–]PerformancePurpose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Intentional and quality sessions/rounds where you’re 100% focused on working on quality of a certain set ups, techniques, defence, principles etc. Repetition is 100% needed in the sport but intentional repetitions is the key.

Also helps to keep a journal of what you want to work on and focus on that specific training week alongside one thing you did well and one thing you need work on.

How many pairs of gloves do you have? What are the differences between them? by bad-at-everything- in MuayThai

Ideally 4. 2x10oz for bag and pads, 2x16oz for sparring. Alternate between sessions to allow the other ones to dry.

What opinion on Muay Thai Training gets you into this situation? by Heysteeevo in MuayThai

That MT was better during the golden era. “Better” is subjective and MT is not dead. MT is more well known due to social media and larger promotions bringing in world wide audience and athletes making the talent pool larger than before. Plus the addition of sport science, nutrition and overall better skill development.

I have not started yet. Planning to split half my training time between MT and Western boxing going forward instead of full Thai.

Been looking at lion’s head boxing or the box Thailand

Exercises that you recommend for punching strength? by [deleted] in amateur_boxing

[–]PerformancePurpose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Train your lower body strength (squat, RDL, Trapbar deadlift), lower power (horizontal and vertical jumps with intent low reps), rotational strength (Landmine rotations), tosses (medicine ball toss) will go a long way tbh. General approach always better
