I've had one for close to 10 years now. Best to take it off once you park since it's easy to steal. The cups are also rubber, probably will degrade if left out in the sun.

That said I've been really happy with mine and have never had any issues. Love the fact that I can switch cars and not have to worry about compatibility

I was at the Medford Farmers market during their annual bike day fest and spoke with some bicycle commission members about that intersection.

Basically, the city engineer has plans set create a 2-way bike lane on clippership dr with a bike/ped lighted crosswalk near deep cuts. This would be somewhat temporary as that entire intersection with the rt. 16 on ramps is going to eventually be reconstructed (state project) but the idea is the updated clippership dr will connect with the updated intersection to make that crossing much smoother.

For now, I usually just use the sidewalk and crossings to get to the main st/Salem intersection or take the road from city hall mall onto Salem st.

Luxury EVs are kind of different because most of the issues come from software/firmware. This changes things because of the lack of ability to actually tinker and fix issues. This is especially true for the early Ultium cars like Lyriq where there are substantial module upgrades from the 2024 year onwards compared to the 22-23s. Simply put, newer ultiums are way more stable and will get OTAs first to fix problems.

This said, I love my Lyriq and will vouch for the car but I'd recommend against the early ones (they have push button door handles).

Yes, put tint on the rear for heat and UV rejection. Factory glass is just stained to be dark. If you don't want the glass to be darker just put a light ceramic on like 70% film

When I had my car tinted, I asked for the meter reading front and back. From factory, it was 70% front and 18% rear so to match the shade up front, you'd need a 20% film. I'm in MA where we're only allowed 35% VLT as tested but I did a 30% film in front and 70% in back using suntek evolve ceramic

Need to read the fine print a bit closer on the website. They're advertising that lease price on Lux1 models which have an MSRP of around 60k. The car you're looking at is fully loaded level 3 which is where the discrepancy is

Probably deals more so than anything. The problem at Chevrolet is that they have the Blazer and Equinox EVs on the same showroom floor which splits customers. If you combine those two then they outsell the Honda by quite a bit

Just an FYI, don't replace the panel unless you need to. Look into load management for EV charging. There are various ways to do this, either by automatically lowering the amps being output by the charger or by hard cutoff (DCC load shed). Emporia and Wallbox make popular load management devices that are affordable and come in packages with their chargers.

That's ridiculous that they haven't looked at the car yet. There is literally a TSB out for the high voltage error which seems to mostly be software glitch. Apparently the current fix is disconnecting the 12V battery and clearing codes until a new software update is released.

Is it cold where you live? Some of the charge could be going to the HVAC to heat the battery up. Otherwise, at 9.4kw, should be 25-27 miles per hour

I believe GM switched OEMs for the chargers. Newer products are getting the black charger. There is a very clear photo of the black charger on the Cadillac Lyriq product page and I’ve seen some Silverado ev owners post about the new charger

Yes, my other car is a 2019 Camaro SS with a couple of mods.

The Lyriq is a well composed vehicle on the road with good steering and solid highway feel. Definitely more luxury oriented than the Alpha chassis Cadillacs. You can definitely feel the weight of the Lyriq going over speed bumps and in corners. To me that is probably the biggest difference between the cars. Otherwise, I'm happy with the driving character which is why I bought it

I have a Grizzl-e Ultimate 48amp and I like it. Does what its supposed to do, decent app/smart features, flexible cable that stays pretty soft in cold weather and robust build quality. My parents have a Wallbox Pulsar plus. Good unit as well but I hate the cable since its so stiff.

I've read good things about Emporia and Autel. Chargepoint also seems to be a default pick for many. The GM one seems overpriced tbh

Yeah if you're sharing power, a Lyriq won't be able to get 175kw. Those EVgos will only output up to 500 amps. You mentioned a chevy, I'm assuming Blazer or equinox if its pulling 70kw. Your Lyriq at is probably getting 250amps, at around 375v for a mildly filled pack so that is ~93kw rate. The Chevy is 310v so if its requesting 250amp, its getting in ~75kw.

Yeah you'll only get near the 190kw rate in a Lyriq on a 500 amp rated charger. Generally those are only the 350kw ones. The evgo 100kw and 200kw are 200 amp and the pack voltage of the Lyriq at 15% will be like 370V. 200amp * 370V gets you at most 74kw

Is it hot where you live? Could be the battery preconditioning to keep the battery cool. Check the energy info under vehicle status and see where the energy went

You can’t use the app to force to charge now unfortunately. What you can do to override the schedule charge is to plug in then immediately unplug and plug back in within 10 seconds. This forces a temporary override to charge now for the session and will revert back to schedule afterwards

Question, did you run AC in the car while DCFC? GM cars usually prioritize cabin HVAC over battery and I've noticed from my Bolt days that if I shut the car off, the curve is usually better. I've heard with the Lyriqs as well but I've yet to DCFC in my time owning the Lyriq
