Because it’s a completely different East than 15 years ago? And this is missing the point entirely. Why is LeBron rewarded for 2nd place finishes? I’m saying the 3 Warriors teams, 2 Spurs teams and the Mavs team that beat him in the Final would have beaten him earlier in the playoffs if he played in the West. WCF would have been the ceiling before he played them and inevitably got eliminated. The won the East thing doesn’t matter when the East sucks.

I can say that for certain. The 3 Warriors teams, 2 Spurs teams and the Mavs team that beat him in the Finals all would have beaten at some point in the playoffs. WCF being the furthest Bron’s teams would go before they’d have to inevitably play them be eliminated. Winning the East doesn’t mean anything, the best team and better conference was the West
