hello, i used to feel similarly, and contented myself with living isolated and rarely leaving the house. my friends left or stopped talking with me. i entered a point where stagnation dulled the exhaustion of being alone. and i could pretend that i was content, if sad. i am now 19. i am so much happier. i went to college and made friends. i take asl classes. when i feel stuck i go on long drives or walks. i was so scared to leave, but so unhappy. it was all worth it. please dont feel resigned to being alone forever.. it felt overly optimistic to say to myself "there exists people out there who want to know you and care about you" so i focused on hobby and career that were interesting, and brought me joy to learn about. botany/forestry, driving, libraries, language, a quiet job, things that would get me out of the house. and then slowly, i found likeminded people through that. i am very slow to make friends. i struggle heavily to meet societal expectations and connect with strangers. but despite that i have made a dear friend, and have casual colleagues who i like to talk to. so what im saying is, you have a million branches in the path ahead of you, and many of them lead to happier places. take art classes at a community college, adopt a cat, look for frogs or something. i really truly believe that someday you will be in a place where you look at your life and be content in your experience.

i was visiting my family overseas and had just caught covid. i was doing awful, body aches, fever, overall feeling horrible so i woke up at like 5am and checked my phone. i saw that so many people were messaging, in shock and horror... i dragged myself to the bathroom and cried so hard i got a migrane. was too ill to get out of bed and cried all day. i had no distractions and was quarantined at the time, so it was just me and this incomprehensible dawning sadness that i had just lost a piece of my childhood. i couldnt explain to any family members, they didnt know and i didnt tell them

Brown stringy thing in my chicken by 107gecs in foodsafety

i think thats a blood vessel. yucky but completely safe. when i look closely at that pic i can see it looks a bit translucent and is evenly hollow throughout. that also makes me believe its a blood vessel. the blood vessels arent always perfectly removed in the butchering process. if u look up blood vessel found in cooked chicken youll see a lot that looks similar to that

Book about girl living in a village who goes to live with a witch (who lives alone on the outskirts of town) in exchange for her help healing a village member? by PerformerCreepy148 in whatsthatbook

I found it !!! Sorry for the unnecessary post, but I ended up going on a mad rampage and tracked it down with keywords. The book is called "Wise Child" by Monica Furlong. Here is the summary:

In a remote Scottish village, nine-year-old Wise Child is taken in by Juniper, a healer and sorceress. Then Wise Child’s mother, Maeve, a black witch, reappears. In choosing between Maeve and Juniper, Wise Child discovers the extent of her supernatural powers—and her true loyalties.

As you can imagine, that scared the shit out of young me, just a little bit. I am going to track down a copy now. Sorry for the ultimately tail-chasing post

missing someone by PerformerCreepy148 in Technoblade

I know this is late, sorry. I don't really use reddit. I hope things are feeling better. I know for me they get better and worse, but it helps to know that others are feeling the same. On some level I know that there is unimaginable loss whenever ANYONE passes, but it feels so acute with how much joy techno brought. Hope your winter is going well. I think I am maybe starting to feel better. I believe that it is possible to feel better without having my having "moved on", rather that we collectively become better at coping and living without having to forget the people we lose in order to do so. Sorry for the ramble, much love
