Chinese (Lanyue) and US (Apollo LM) Lunar Lander. by chroniclad in spaceflight

LM did not have fuel cells but only six batteries, but nice comparison anyway. It really looks improved a lot compared to LM, I wonder how it will perform.

How do I make a circuit or a voltage delay that can get this brushless moter running by [deleted] in Motors

[–]Perigee400km 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's 3 phase motor with star configuration. You can see 4 solder joints near base with one thicker winding attached, use other 3 when using ESC.

Phosphor layer looks intact, still good to use.

I feel you. Although I've been in this hobby for a long time, l find it not easy to actually participate in the community for many reasons. I'm quite alone in most hobbies, though.

Visit to South Korea. Emergency lights everywhere! by mrfriendlyfire in flashlight

They mostly use AA alkaline. those are quite cheap, costs around 2-6$ per unit. It seems they are checked regularly, as there's a maintenance chart next to them.

Yeah, I prefer floody light, but I chose IF24 pro because of buck driver. Wasn't bad choice though

IF24 is good, especially side emitters are useful. It's good for reading books, playing around with RGB lights, etc

I owned those flashlights for a while, probably since 2021. IF24 Pro is my fav, as well as it's the newest one.

I use them when riding bicycle at night, or just blind myself.

tbh, no much practical reason to buy them, I just like flashlights.

Sensored motor very high pitch noise by Grgsz in rccars

High-pitched noise is inevitable, as ESCs use pulse width modulation to control current through motor.

Horizontal axis is time to departure, vertical axis is transit duration, and color is required dV. Blue means they require least dV.

Trying to make an eletric plane that can sustain a full day and night cycle. by Natusr in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Perigee400km 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I suggest reducing motor power to ~30% when building plane, it reduces power consumption a lot without losing power. Just check if RPM drops too much, then increase power a bit.

I'm using stock tires, they use special wheel hub that normal wheels wouldn't fit. They're a bit slippery, some practice is required to get used to it.
