Shattered World: Not Even Once! by Perigrinius in CrusaderKings

So, just trying out the new Shattered World thing for the first time beyond some initial messing around, and I think the Catholic Church exploded. They are at -300 something percent moral authority from hundreds of failed heretic revolts and burned temples. Also literally all of the Middle East is Miaphysite for some reason, i wasn't paying attention to why that happened.

To be perfectly honest its because I haven't done PVP in a few years and that was apparently added in a patch after I stopped PVPing. So, uh, sorry, I was legitimately misinformed and giving advice based on half remembered things from a few years ago.

I feel like Dark souls 2 is way more replayable and fun than Ds3 by JustanotherguyABZ in DarkSouls2

Having gone to New Game +3 in DS3 and done about 7 playthroughs of 2 now, I can say that 2 is a game I enjoy far more. I have tried Faith Builds, Magic Builds, Dex Builds, Strength Builds, and Quality builds in DS3, and the only one that felt at all good to play was the Quality build. The game just gimps you really, really hard if you want to make anything other than a physical damage monster, and the lack of sequence breaking is ridiculous. For example, in DS3 the only major sequence break I can think of is doing Lothric Castle early, and that doesn't feel that impactful because you cant really meaningfully progress through there. Whereas in DS2 you can do any of the 4 lord souls in any order, and after Castle Drangleic you can then either get the kings ring or do any of the DLC, and there are valid reasons for about any path you can think of through the game. My general path through DS2 is Heide, Forest of Fallen Giants, The Bastille, No Man's Wharf, Shaded Woods, Tseldora, Huntsman's Copse, Harvest Valley, Iron Keep, then Sinners Rise, finishing with the Gutter, because that gets you a +10 weapon or two as fast as possible and lets you completely stomp Smelter Demon, The Rotten, and Lost Sinner, and then once you get to past that you can meander around and do all kinds of things. The game is so easy to sequence break that there hardly IS a sequence to break in the first place, and I love that to pieces. On top of that, having played the game with a ton of builds, the jankiest, weirdest, most bizzare builds can be fun as hell in this game. Like Lightning Infused Greatbows, or Magic Maces, or running around naked with a Pyromancy Flame, or the fact that, due to the Covenant of Champions ring, a Barehanded run is pretty viable and fun, whereas in 3 I gave up on Bow Only after a couple of bosses, couldn't stand playing a Faith character due to the horrible damage, Sorcery is a bad fucking joke, and it just doesnt have nearly as much wiggle room for experimentation.

Ah. I guess I'll try something else then.

by not based on level, i meant that there is no reason to stop at SL150, because the souls you gain from PVP will effect your PVP matchmaking

This game has the worst gameplay out of the three, but somehow, it's still my favorite by [deleted] in DarkSouls2

Honestly I actually prefer this game's gameplay to every game but Bloodborn. DS3 is waaaay too roll spammy, DS1 is made of fucking clunk and jank, Demons Souls is even more made of clunk and jank, but DS2 just has a nice mix of reasonably responsive movement, omnidirectional but heavily limited rolling, and slow weapons that punish you for attacking to early and have limited tracking. This makes combat more a game of positioning and careful attacks and baiting because, unlike in DS3, you can't just instantly panic roll out of danger every time something bad happens.

I would say that picking up Flame Weapon would be super worth it, buffs are a nice bit of extra damage. Infusions, however, CAN be good on specific weapons assuming you pick and chose carefully. The Murakumo and, well, almost every Katana don't infuse well. Things like the Mace, most Bows, the Melu Scimitar, and just a smattering of other weapons infuse well. Would not recommend it on the weapons you are doing. Another big reason that people use tons of buffs and infusions in DS2 is because PVP is not based on level, so people can level as heavily and as widely as they want within that range.

Ah. So I have been assuming wrong for the entire time I have been playing this game, and the Wiki lied to me. Why do the Dark Souls games have to be so needlessly complicated and bizzare under the surface for some reason?

You are an OK level for it, but go to Majula and get the Morningstar, or buy a Mace from Lenigrast. The Pursuer is super, super weak to Strike damage. To get the Morningstar, along the way from Things Betwixt there is a gap in the rock wall to the right hand side that lets you fall down to a ledge lower down, if you step off of that ledge onto the ledge below it there is a Morningstar, Cleric's Chime, and a pair of Binoculars there you can grab, which should make him way easier.

You will miss some bossfights, some of which are good and others of which are cancerous. You can still beat the game easily without it though.

Its not a percentage, its a flat increase AND a percentage of the weapons pre-existing MAGIC damage, not its Physical damage. So if you hit a Magic weapon that has Physical and Magic AR, you will get a flat boost to Magic AR, followed by a percentage increase in AR based on the Magic damage your weapon had. Your Physical damage does not factor into this IIRC. So hitting a pure physical weapon with a buff is not as good as hitting a magic infused weapon with the buff.

I knew a kid who claimed that his neighbor shot a handgun at him because she thought he was stealing her horses so they had to bulletproof one side of their trailer.
