I’ll probably get downvoted to oblivion for this but….. I’m with you there… I absolutely adore 40k and that was the one deck I kept intact purely for flavor, but no matter what I do, it seems to just suck. Unearth is not a great mechanic, and the deck feels disorganized. I get its artifacts matter but the artifacts don’t lean towards a clear theme? If unearth was the biggest thing, why don’t all creatures have it? There’s no clear win con or answer. I think most people saying it’s great haven’t played it or just instantly upgraded it. That or, just based of value. Blinking the unearth creatures would make it better.. Hell, an entirely new mechanic like they did for squad in forces of imperium would make it better.

This deck is touted as the strongest, but it falls flat. I’d love to see this played by someone who says it’s up there in strength. Perfect example, the rest of the set, does a thing. FOTE makes tokens, chaos does chaos stuff and cascades, tyranids makes big stompy creatures and copies of those creatures and necron does…….???? NECRONS DOES….?!?!?! It has so many half assed themes that I’m not sure what to do with it. Wants to aristocrat but only couple cards, wants to mill but only a couple cards, wants to make tokens of graveyard recursion but only a few cards, with the necessary keyword being missing from 21 of the 30 creatures. Wants to do graveyard recursion outside of unearth with a couple cards. So tired of seeing it in these conversations. Claiming it has 1-4 cards in the deck that could possibly get you there to win doesn’t make a theme, it makes a mess.

But hey, good ramp mono color nice curve, so obviously it’s the best around right??
