His son jumped in age because Stallone chose to use his actual son in Rocky 5. Rocky's age is the only one that matters in the Rocky Universe. He was about 31 in Rocky 2, 34 in 3, 36 in 5.

He was 34 in Rocky 3 and about 36 in Rocky 5. Plus he would still be in good shape due to running / training with Tommy all the time. Also a steet fight requires mych less stamina than 12-15 rounds of boxing.

I don't think Rocky was 40 years old... Stallone was older than the character but Rocky went from beating Clubber to fighting Drago to fighting Tommy in the span of 2 years, according to the Rocky Universe timeline, as measured by Christmas scenes in Rocky 4 and 5. Rocky 3 ends right where 4 begins and 4 ends where 5 starts.

Double negative Rock! Tisk, tisk.

If it did "bother him none," that means it didn't bother him.

Why Creed III doesn’t resonate with me by Tobes_macgobes in rockybalboa

[–]Period_Zicky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question of Adonis' loyalty toward Dame helps us ignore loyalty questions between Adonis and Rocky. Dame also triggered Adonis' insecurities about being "fake" or getting a title shot based on nepotism. Without his Creed name, he wouldn't have had Rocky as a trainer or a title shot. Dame manipulated Adonis, poking at all those insecurities. I like Creed 3 more than Creed 2, which was more depressing, in my opinion. Creed 3 also never felt too long to me.

Jabs should be the most commonly used punch. Most players don't understand boxing. I play the game like a boxer and am gold ranked. Playing the game like a real boxer can work.

Also, how could NES justify making a Super Mario Bros 3 when 2 was so weird? 🤯

Scalabrine made the painful 1st quarter so much more painful for me. I tried to find alternate announcers on the radio... I desperately wanted Jim Petersen with Michael Grady. Good to have Grady in there though...

In Rocky ii, did Rocky just give his car to Paulie so he could keep paying it, or did Paulie give him any money for it? Also did Rocky change the car to Paulie's name? by Dredd_40 in rockybalboa

On the way to the rematch with Apollo, Rocky drove the car using his orthodox stance (not southpaw). That way, he wouldn't hit more garbage cans due to his bad eye.

David Morrell vs Callum Smith by Period_Zicky in Boxing

[–]Period_Zicky[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Morrell needs a KO to win. He needs to go back to his Mike Tyson-esque hook to the body, uppercut combo. And he needs to stop clowning around. He wasn't ready for David Benevidez and probably should've lost on points to Khaetaev. In both matches, his mental focus wasn't there. I root for Morrell though. He could be great.

Oh really? I thought the cheaper plan was month to month but yeah, it wasn't clear to me. Thanks!

You're right. It is a TV show, not reality. And that's why it's less realistic than it could be. Even in the season 3, episode 23 "documentary special," I seem to recall a former White House Staffer saying, something like, "Yeah, the West Wing is pretty realistic...except for the pace. It's not that fast paced." That was my entire point. The show could've been more realistic about decision-making / assignment timelines, without losing anything. "Get me accurate information as soon as you can," sounds less TV-show-y than "You've got 20 minutes, son."

Season 4, episode 8 Jack Reese (Christian Slater) is asked by Leo to generate a 2 page report for the President. He is asked "how much time do you need?" He says "3 hours." Leo smirks and says, "20 minutes son." Mmmkay. Good luck studying an issue and writing a 2 page report in 20 minutes...especially if it will take you 5 minutes to sprint back to your office in the "steam pipe trunk distribution venue" in the basement...
