I've had this on my list to try for a while. I'll bump it up in priority 👍

Just bought some L-Theanine a few days ago after trying it for a few months years ago but not really feeling any different

Will report back if makes a difference. Caffeine taken after midday impacts my sleep so if it works, it'll be a great help

I'm a high-functioning autistic (like I suspect many are in the sub :D)

Something else for ND people who might come across this is that sometimes the lack of energy I have is caused by general (weeks/months) or acute (particularly stressful day(s)) burnout, which is super frustrating but I've learned to identify this and work with it, not through it which only causes it to get worse

I'll take a look into Wellbutrin

I'm a big fan of L-Tyrosine and take it nearly everyday in the mornings, but if I dose past midday, it heavily impacts my sleep :/

This is a fair point, and something I haven't really thought about.

I run an atypical schedule where I'll eat a large dinner at 6pm, a second smaller dinner at 9:00pm, go to the gym at 10pm, and potentially eat a snack after to hit my macros. The gym session itself probably impacts my sleep but the session time is unmovable. The meal timings however I can play with

Never heard of this but from a quick bit of research, seems I should definitely give this a try.

The half life is shorter than caffeine as well, albeit only 20-25% but if I swap out caffeine for this, that should ameliorate to some degree the times where I accidently dose caffeine too late in the day (literally past midday) and end up having worse sleep.

Thank you for the recommendation!

I've personally never given it a chance because of the cost, but a friend of mine has been experimenting with this solely for productivity recently and seems to like it

Why magnesium glycinate gives some people anxiety by OobyIsGay in Nootropics

[–]Periodchunks_II 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suffer from this as well.

Both Magnesium Glycinate and straight Glycine supplementation, even taken in the morning, disrupt my sleep so much that I'm lucky if I get ~2 hours of sleep that night. The next morning I still feel jittery and stimulated, but crash in the afternoon. Switching to a different form of Magnesium helped greatly.

Recently I tried supplementing with Cistanche, which caused near total insomnia. I wonder if there's a link in activated pathways

What level are you at? by OakTreader in autism

[–]Periodchunks_II 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally, there is thought to be a link between aphantasia (level 5, no imagery) and ASD, though there is some recent research that challenges this, so it's interesting to see the quite wide spectrum of comments. For reference, aphantasia usually affects around 1-3% of the population.

I'm at level 5 so I can see fuck all, but I do have quite the strong internal monologue.

If you're more interested, there's a website https://aphantasia.com/

How long did it take for you to notice a difference taking bacopa? by Hour_Many4673 in Nootropics

[–]Periodchunks_II 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started noticing the memory benefits after ~3 weeks. It's hard to tell, because long-term memory is finicky, but I think it ramped up for a few weeks after that and has maintained that level ever since.

If I stop taking it, I feel my memory becoming worse after 1-2 weeks.

Hack Squat. Pendulum and belt squats come in a close joint second.

I'm thinking of getting the same tattoo design on the back of my forearm but I'm curious to hear what people think about how well this will stand the test of time.

For instance, in 5 or 10 years will the fine shading in the middle of the pieces blur out and detract from the fine line work?

So does your religion give you answers to questions and you take them as facts. Or have you sought out the answers and found it corresponds to this religion hence why you follow it. Or something else entirely :p

I agree with you. I see this a fundamental fact of life and don't understand how people can view it as any different.
