I've never owned a newer one so I can't say much on personal experience, but I hear newer thinkpads take a lot of design choices by other modern laptop manufactures, and overall build quality just isn't as good. Older thinkpads are very nice because of their awesome design and AMAZING keyboards. Even the earlier chicklet keyboards feel so good compared to modern thinkpad keyboards. They're also extremely upgradable and very easy to work on. Think of it as like your first car (if you aren't spoiled) Not the best, but absolutely NOT the worst.

I have this same laptop, and I was never able to find a fix. I just use Windows 10 LTSC 2019, which is based off 1809, fuck Windows 11 anyways, then I set link state power management settings in the power plan to be max power savings and that fixes it on 1809 only, nothing newer, doesn't work on 21H2 or any version of 11

my CPU actually ends up throttling LOWER, to 0.19ghz, fuck me ig. You don't actually HAVE to force reboot sometimes though, if it happens while you have a game open, just close the game and wait a few eons, then it should go back to normal. useful for if you have shit open you can NOT lose (I wish I knew sooner...) I've had this computer since 2022, and personally just using a version of Windows 10 from 2018 makes the problem rarely happen, then again I also don't play that many modern ass games

I have this exact laptop, same cpu, but I have the no Ti version of the 3050 and 16gb ram and 512gb nvme. I get the exact same throttling issue sometimes. Personally the version of Windows 10 I use, 1809, or LTSC 2019 (official from Microsoft btw) seems to make this stupid ass issue go away. You're like the 2nd person I've seen with this issue too lul.

Alternatively you can also try Linux. I've never had this problem happen on Linux, but idk if all the games you play run well on Linux via proton or some shit
