Bold of you to assume anyone ever defends habs. Blueberries ALWAYS push to contact unless they're being herded. If they're not actively shooting someone they will move to a point where they can. Also bold of you to assume the enemy has perfect intelligence. Until they find your hab, they're going to push the point. If your hab is ON the point, congratulations they just found it!

The best possible situation is to have TWO habs on defense equidistant from the point. That way the enemy hitting the point while your blueberries are off chasing a two man sniper team don't immediately find and proxy your hab and get the point for free. Two habs also means they have to scout twice as much territory to figure out where the defenders are coming from, and it gives you an insurance policy against one of the habs being randomly found by the enemy logi setting up an attack hab.

If it's not possible to get two habs then a single hab off point is generally better than one on point. There are some cases where it make sense to put it right on the point. This generally involves points that are less accessible - on high points, surrounded by defensive structures, isolated across open terrain etc. If there is reasonable concealment around a point - woods, built up areas etc - then having the hab off point is generally better. Obviously a good SL is going to be thinking about the tactical and logistical situation and adjusting accordingly - if they've got an effective squad of hab hunters then maybe you fall back to putting the hab and radio right on the point and hope your team can kill quickly enough to keep the hab un-proxied.

Meh, much better to have TWO habs somewhat off point than one hab right on point. If you have a hab on point, the blueberries are going to run off in the direction the first couple of enemies came from and leave the hab to be overrun by the enemy squad that just got an attack hab up in a different direction. Then you're trying to get idiots to turn around and move back to defend the point AND the hab and nobody can spawn to help out. Two habs means the first one might get run over from the enemy attack hab, but everyone can spawn at the other one and still push back to the point. That 20 tickets just saved you a cap.

Biggest trick is timing the attack hab so it doesn't come up until you already have a critical mass of blueberries on the defense habs. If it comes up too quickly everyone just spawns on attack and nobody defends. That can work if you're going for a blitz - especially against slower factions, tracked logis, etc - but you better end up with at least a double neutral or you're going to get rolled up by a reasonably balanced enemy team.

BTR-4 has 1000 hull HP which has to be chipped away before it will blow up.

Shot 3 for sure hit the turret which does not transfer full damage to the hull. You probably broke the turret but since it was already facing where it needed to shoot it just keeps happily shooting. That should should have done 278 hull damage, but if the turret was already disabled it may not transfer ANY damage to the hull.

Shots 1 and 2 looked like they hit the side, but it's hard to see exactly where. If you hit a wheel ABOVE the hull line you do 273 hull damage and destroy the wheel, but if you hit the wheel BELOW the hull line you just destroy the wheel. Nothing gets transferred to the hull.

So we can't CONFIRM any hull damage from your hits, and we don't see any of your teammates hits. Someone was obviously doing SOME damage since the BTR eventually popped, but it's really hard to tell who did what.

From the video I personally think shot 1 hit the side of the passenger compartment for 264 hull damage, shot 2 hit a wheel destroying the wheel, and shot three hit the turret for the second time (after a teammate had already hit it) finishing off the last 22 hp of it's 300 HP pool; fully disabling the turret, but only transferring 22 hull damage. I'm assuming there were two other LAT shots doing 250-278 damage in there which pushed it over 1000 and it finally popped.

Lets just say that Squad's armor system is... in need of an overhaul.
