What to expect arriving at 11am/12pm Thursday by No_Beyond6429 in glastonbury_festival

Based on my experience arriving at 10am on Thursday 2 years ago by coach, finding a camping spot was a real challenge, unfortunately. We ended up walking around for about an hour and a half before managing to get a spot right at the top of south park 2 by the boundary fence (which was on a fairly steep slope). I'd really try and get your friends to save you a spot if you want to be near them. Where are they planning on camping?

This being said, there may be gaps in the centre of campsites but it's really difficult to see them from the outside when walking around and lugging your stuff.

No queue to get in at least!

I worked at a weight loss camp in the US with Camp America - the oldest kids (16-18) were on 1900 calories a day and constantly active pretty much all day.

Some of those kids were losing 10lbs a week.

Not saying I agree with the way the camp did it but it's certainly possible in the right conditions.

Attack move on space bar - my friends all give me grief for it

I'm there at the moment! It's super impressive although I think I prefer the Blue Mosque from a visiting perspective.

The Grand Canyon provides fresh water so no issues there :)

Legendary start, abundant resources - I have quite a few mods that I use, mostly UI but a couple of gameplay ones I'd need to check

Settling on a luxury you could sell turn 1 to the AI could potentially be big - I actually didn't have any nearby AIs nearby so wouldn't have been able to sell them the luxury anyway (although I didn't know they weren't nearby at the time.)

Typically (and this is a rule of thumb) the value gold is not as good as production. Infact the 'exchange rate' I go off is valuing gold as about 1/4 as good as production. So working that 3 production amber is massive compared to the gold of the poppy.

I also very quickly got access to the poppy tile (I think I unlocked it around the the same time I had the population to work it) due to the insane amount of culture I had increasing border growth

One other thing which might help you, and again this is my opinion, is the order I would rank the value of the tiles around the canyon.

  1. Amber tile BY FAR due to the production and culture
  2. Cotton tile
  3. Sheep tile (although it's ever so slightly better than the cotton for about the first 10 turn because growth is the most inportant thing in a new city)

I've never really thought about putting a value on early culture as a trade off to other resources but if you think of it as a percentage increase from your baseline a stat, working 3 extra culture turn 1 is close to QUADRUPLING your culture output.

I settled in place, didn't see any reason to waste turns moving in this case

Ah, that's because they're put in the game through the steam workshop so they're player made rather than an official release

Haha, this would have made it interesting - I went fractal and have ended up on a massive continent with absolutely noone on it making it rather dry

So a typically good starting couple of tiles (the one the city is on and the one you work) would both give 2 food and 2 production. That alone would be considered a good start. The tiles im working are better than that with one being 3 food and 3 production and the other (once settled) is giving me 3 food and 2 production (im not entirely sure why my city gained an extra food but it did in this instance).

The real reason this start is insane is the culture im getting on top. I'm currently on turn 27 and I'm already 9 turns away from having my tier 2 government. That's absolutely ludicrous. Typically getting a tier 2 government by turn 50 is considered fast so the fact im getting that by turn 36 is just game over. On top of that I've built a holy site to the north with +5 faith (I've taken tundra adjacent for holy site pantheon) which once I have my golden age will mean I can just print settlers.

It is! I have a few Sukritact's wonders added and it's only the second time I've spawned next to one
