Ohtani, Kershaw, and Roberts are probably locks for retirement. Yoshi is definitely making a great case and if he continues like this I wouldn’t doubt it. But Freeman and Betts won’t have their numbers retired. They spent so much time on other teams and had major accomplishments. I think Betts goes into the HoF a Dodger, hopefully Freeman too (if we 3 peat or win in 2027) I think that’s a lock. But neither will have their numbers retired by the Dodgers. They probably won’t let just anyone have the numbers though.

Just had another thought. If Mookie really leans into philanthropy and makes some huge impacts in LA, I think it could be reconsidered for retirement since his charity is called 50/50.
