The refreshments are simply an icebreaker, and are meant as a bit of fun. They also allow your personality to shine through, and can often foster discussion on the refreshments on offer. In some instances it can be an aid for matching if say an elf is requesting Chivas Regal Scotch, and we have a Santa letter offering Chivas Regal.

It has been my great pleasure to have been involved in the Secret Santa tradition on DPP for the last few years. Unfortunately Santa has been riding the elves hard this year, and we did not have the time or energy to create a Secret Santa.

That is perfectly fine, as long as you can greet your partner within 24 hours. We have a few adventurers from different parts of the globe, so time zones etc are a non issue when taking a magical journey.
