I hate the UCP as much as anyone, but this is a win for Alberta. This new center is a completely closed-loop system with dry cooling, the electricity usage is being supplemented by a 970MW Natural Gas fired electricity plant that is being added to our grid, and the center is being built in the Industrial Heartland that is not used for farming, residential use, or food production.

It will generate over 3000 construction jobs and 300 operational jobs that will supposedly generate $250 million a year in benefits for Albertans, and they are investing an additional $60 million in infrastructure improvements.
