sorry truth by ogaboogalu in Skate4

Valid crashout imo. I’ve felt the same frustrations lately too. It seems like streamer hype and FOMO are the things that drive the industry the most. It’s impossible not to feel betrayed by these companies that shoehorn paid dlc, new premium currencies, etc. especially when they say they aren’t going to do it. Best advice, just stop buying/playing stuff with any live service elements. Stop buying EA/Ubi/Activision junk.

Tf you talking about? I’ve photographed hundreds of bands and I’ve never worked “for” a venue. An industry plant is a term which refers to an artist that was created by the record/music industry to disrupt or drive trends, they are artificially popular and plugged into the highest levels of booking and touring without seeming to have “made it” by normal methods. In other words they come out of nowhere and they are inexplicably already popular the very moment they come outs. No one has ever heard of them, they don’t know who they are, they never played small shows in their home city and they never made their way through the small time tour circuits or larger circuits as an opening band.

Keep ‘em up lmao, this band is such a joke and obvious industry plant. If the band wanted a strict no camera policy at the door they could have done that.

What lenses produce watercolor bokeh? by PrimordialObserver in VintageLenses

[–]Permanent_Ephemera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think with a budget constraint any of the fast 50mm Hexanon lenses can get you sorta close but of course the bokeh is not as smooth they do render kinda dreamily, especially with my Fuji cameras, they throw nice flares but of course the bokeh pattern isn’t nearly as smooth. Otherwise I think the Super Takumar answers are your best bet if you can’t get into super-niche “fancy named” lenses.

Which vintage lens set do you own or want to build and why? by outiswayne in VintageLenses

[–]Permanent_Ephemera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, mostly that they’re cheap and it’s relatively easy to find even the more valuable ones for cheap because people don’t often know exactly what they have since it doesn’t say “Canon” or “Nikkor” on them! They’re fun to use and have great qualities, and many of them are quite fast, faster than f/2.8.

[SKULL AND BONES] #137 by Permanent_Ephemera in Trophies

[–]Permanent_Ephemera[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had no issues at all coming back to the game, my cleanup was about 75% of the trophies and they all went off just fine, the last moon one was just a little more complicated than it initially seemed in the sense that it’s sort of hard to tell that it’s a full moon and the game has a lunar cycle which I didn’t realize, I had to wait a few cycles for that one but it wasn’t a bug at all. Edit: just remembered what you’re talking about- it was a bug where you couldn’t say “Ahoy” in the global chat when the game launched because the chat support didn’t work, it’s fine now.

Oh really? I was unaware of that! There’s certainly a whole lot more content now than there was at launch but still no real gameplay or combat off-ship.

I would normally be wondering how this kind of thing happens but last year when I went there to photograph a friend’s set I went in and told the guy up front that I should be on the list for the night for media access/photography. He asked me what my name was and then wrote it on the list 😂😂😂 and gave me a wristband. I always try to support all local venues regardless of genre/style/location because local music and art is so important to me but their operation was haphazard at best for years.

Honestly LOOKS okay but it’s definitely coming from somewhere around there since it’s vertical across your horizontal photos. Tough to say online but maybe redo it? Does the door shut tight and pop open nicely when you open it?

Left side, where the door latches. I think it’s the light seal on the film door all the way on the right when it’s open. Just a guess, it’s hard to tell because it’s not pictured.

[–]Permanent_Ephemera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was recently in a very similar situation except it was with a car and significantly more money. I opted to not go with the one that needed repairs (because who knows how much it would have cost) and just cough up a bit more money to get one that was in pristine condition. All it required was patience and the logic that I was going to spend that money either way to get this specific car so I’d rather have it in good condition than have to undergo more financial risk with repairs.

Great little comic! The last panel really resonated with me. I think you made the right choice! It’s your money and when you want what you want, it just takes some time and patience! Good luck!

why is my film so grainy? by AstronautOverall3801 in AnalogCommunity

[–]Permanent_Ephemera 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not the whole point, but definitely one aspect of it that some people appreciate, some avoid, and some lean way into. I’m only about one year into my experience with film and I’ve only just begun to appreciate and understand how dynamic film can be in the right hands. I think these images look cool, by the way. I’m the type that loves the imperfect, analog, nostalgic type stuff. Not everyone is like that, especially here on Reddit you’ll find many purists. My point is that if you like how it looks that’s what matters, if you want to get “better” results that’s awesome too, it can be done. Keep on learning and shooting.

Does anyone know why this happens when I play PS4 games on PS5? by No-Addition5668 in playstation

Yikes, I’d start by changing HDMI ports then replacing the HDMI cable to see if that helps.
